Tower Hobbies, lol.

Ahh...ok with the discussion that AE might release new shock towers so that you don't have to shave the stockers to make the BB fit I assumed he meant that he had ordered towers (shock towers) with the BBs. Not that towers was really Tower Hobbies.

He meant "tower", not "towers", as in "Tower Hobbies", the website.

With sufficient coupon fu you can get fairly good discounts on stuff there, but without coupon fu you'd be better off ordering from somewhere else (Stormer, A-Main, etc).

Price now $49.99. Updated my order and now only $46.87 a pair after coupon. That is for 4 pairs 187.46 total sc10 and b4.1.

Ok since I think it got overlooked: for shimming the shock tower and shock mounts out for BB spring equipped V2s it has been said use the 2mm shims. I am not seeing a kit of 2mm shims so do I need to get two of these kits? http://www.teamassociated.com/parts/details/4617/

Or maybe two of these kits: http://www.teamassociated.com/parts/details/31286/

Or is it something different?

I doubt they will be cheap. The price on used V2's will probably be the same. But you might see more new ones from kits as people build the kits with BB.

O, one of the issues with the old shocks was the rubbing on the bodies. The BB springs, removed the rubbing against the bodies and allowed for more consistent shocks. But now the Bodies are BB and i would think the rubbing issue will return? Thoughts?

I very much believe that they will drop in price over the next few weeks.
Demand is for BB, supply is that every BB buyer has a set of V2 they don't need any more and might as well sell to recoup some of the cost.

I think 25$-30$ for a well kept set will be the norm, maybe a bit more if they have the gear for BB springs with them.

any 2mm shims will work. If your hobby shop has a touring car section, you can usually find little bags of metric hardware. Alot of times in different colors (if that matters LOL)

And there in lies the problem...no local hobby shop.

So I need to figure out the right part so I can place an order. :tire:

I'd guess ASC4617. ASC31286 are ballstud washers. You wouldn't want ballstud washers for this application.

Wildcat1971 09-14-2012 10:05 AM

The Team magic ones are good too. Maybe a tad cheaper.
