Were still talking about the diff nut and screw lol. If it makes a difference then how come oher manufacturers have it on the other side? Most importantly is to get the nut in the proper outdrive imo.
Well, when you rebuild (which will probably be soon), use the black grease for the thrust. The silicon grease actually is designed to give the balls "grip", not just to lubricate. The black stuff is grease, and is designed to lubricate, which is what the thrust bearing needs.
I would imagine that the majority of the time someone's diff starts to loosen up its because the diff nut is starting to wear out. My kids T4 loosened on its own once and you could feel the difference between his diff nut and any others.

If I'm not mistaken, the B4.1 Manual which is the same as the manual online does not show you which way to install the shaft, but the Worlds Manual does. Unfortunately the Worlds Manual is not available online and I lost mine, so I can't confirm.
I believe the Worlds Manual shows the shaft (The allen wrench side) installed on the same side as the slipper.
