Default Gearing suggestions

I have an 8.5 and a 13.5 for my SC-R and was wondering what a good gearing combo would be for the two motors. It is ran in a large, indoor track so ambient temperature is not a problem and as it is geared now, I am pulling it off at 135 or less, so can definitely gear up for some higher speed. Any suggestions?

Default spur gear stripping off...

yea I have the t-bone bumper and love it helps keep wind from under the body, but I wanting to know is how do I keep from stripping spur gears out, I run a orion 8.5 and got 22 pinion and 82 spur but this truck is hooked up and its rolling my pinion also, do they make a metal spur that may fit this truck?

I run a boosted 9.5 ion3 mod and I don't have that problem , keep a eye on how tight your slipper is and your gear lash . I don't think anybody makes a metal spur . I know people have been using sc10 spur gears maybe you could get this to fit http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/sc10.html , You'll need the sc10 slipper pads .

its not the equipment......

You are doing something wrong. I would strongly suggest getting advise from an experienced driver to show you how to properly adjust your gear mesh. Also be sure you have a nice wrench like the MIP allen wrenches so you are sure you are setting the motor screws tight enough so the motor doesnt move while driving. You could possibly have a bent top shaft and that could be causing a bad mesh.

MAKE SURE YOUR MOTOR PLATE ISNT BENT.. sorry bout the caps. this can bend and cause this issue. also if you arent seasoned in setting gear mess, put a piece of paper between the gears when your your adjusting the motor position this should get you a good mess.

Yes. I run a 7.5 with the 2.1 90 amp speedo no problem. Runs cool.

SCR used the same chassis as the RTR. There was an optional carbon chassis, but tha was much stiffer and really only helped on indoor high bite tracks.

Hi all,

Just joined the SC-R club, this truck looks super cool!
what lipos would you recommend to use with this truck?
& what's a good FDR running a speed passion gran turismo v2.0 with a team powers 10.5T on a small track?
Cheers

I use a 5000mAh 80C LiPo battery pack it has plenty of punch. Of course you can use whatever pack you choose.

I hate that trick. Still leaves too much room for error up to the operator. Nothing wrong with suggesting it of course as it is one of the most repeated things in rc.
