I'm wondering the same exact thing but with SCTE wheels. My solution would to run a larger HEX and short nut but I don't know if there's enough room on the axle. Below is the bigger hex.... maybe the sc6

I have a SC10 4x4 and have run those wheels on my Kyosho. They work, but why would you want it narrower? What I like to do is run the Kyosho or Slash wheels on my SCR.

How much rear toe are you guys running w/ 17.5, indoors, medium to medium/high traction?

I run SC10 Hazards on my SCR. I would only suggest it if you run on a track that does not have a lot of traction or it has a lot of tight technical sections. I get a lot more traction and better response from my truck. However, being that they are narrower wheels, the truck has a tendency to bicycle or traction roll.
This may sound weird, but I am a lot more consistent with the narrower wheels that I am with the wider wheels. Last race, I tried running wider fronts but kept the Hazards in the rear. I was able to push the truck harder to make faster lap times, but I wasn't as consistent as I was with the Hazards all around.
In a nutshell, the narrower wheels will give you more traction and better response. And from my testings, it gives more consistency.

also I went with a RevTech 17.5, suggested gearing for Blinky (either 78 or 82 spur)? Track- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWG9xnRohCE

its maybe a mm wider on both side if you use Slash Rears, not a big deal unless you run a ROAR sanctioned race or run somewhere that uses (and enforces) ROAR rules , and even then I think they fit the spec box if you do

For blinky gearing, start with a 78/27. This gear ratio has worked great for me on a few different tracks. For small tracks, go down a tooth or two on the pinion.

Guys, I've bought my son, he's 4, his first RC car (SC-R SP) to go racing with Dad and wanted to set it up to be as durable, and low maintenance, as possible. So I was thinking of dropping in a gear diff until he gets comfortable driving on a track. I've bought the usual spares for it just looking for some input from those that have time on this car and no it's high and low spots.
I am putting in an RS Pro mated to a Redline 17.5 with stock spur so I should start with a 27t pinion?
Thanks for the feedback guys!

Anyone know if this is a typo? Tebos' CRCRC 2012 setup says 5mm shim under the rear suspension mount??
