If anyone has any tips on things i can check or do it would be great.

Running a gear diff or a ball diff?

Running ball diff. Plan to upgrade to gear.
The tight spot follows the idler gear that site up against the diff.

Thanks for the help

How tight are the screws on the gear box? Loosen a few up and see how the diff spins.

I have found with both my dex210 s that the idle gear spacer is too long by filing a little material off the end of it made the box spin free no matter how tight i did the screws up

Thanks guys.
I will try filing/sanding the shims a little. The tightness is there even when you just hold the case together with no screws.
After that I will order another case.

Cheers

I've just got a 210V2 and raced it. It's an awesome buggy straight out of the box (running the recommended carpet setup). It's just a little too twitchy for me in the slower turns. Anyone got some setup changes I could make to improve it (have already tried my transmitter but just made it too slow for me).

4mm trailing on the front axle if your not already using it, should make the steering less sensitive

Thanks man. Have the 4mm axle position and it was still twitchy. I was running a shorty battery all the way forward. This could have made the steering too sensitive in slower turns. I will try moving it back for the next race meet. Just didn't think about moving it on the night.

Yea.. definitely try moving the battery around. I've almost always ended up running it all the way back. Remember you may need to rebalance your springs after you move the battery...

I bought a v1 used. After a few changes it has handled amazingly for me. I have recently looked at it very closely since I am building a DEST that I want to base it on. There was one thing that seemed really strange:

The ball stud is on the front of the wheel hub, instead of the back, bring the camber link right up against the spring. Is this a typical mod?

Another thing I noticed was that he ignored the spacer on the rear wheel ball link and instead he screwed it into a nut on the other side. I had that exact part pull out on my SC, I will definitely be using some of those.

What tires are you running ? I've been trying to get some steering out of mine with no success.

The tyres I'm running (for carpet) are:
Front: Dboots Blockpass
Rear: Proline Pinpoints
