Alana, I should be putting together some kits within the next couple weeks for the buggy and the truck.Working on the instruction manual and packaging right now. As soon as I have a few kits built up in stock I will be starting a thread on here dedicated to the P.S.I. conversion kits. I plan on posting pics of the kits as they will arrive, and covering a few areas of the conversion process in the thread. Also, sales will be handled through an online store through e-bay.I will make people aware when the store is up and running.I hate using ebay, but it is the easiest, most direct way, to put something like this out to the public.

Regardless, this wont be my first rodeo direct marketing one of my products through e-bay.I already have a couple products I have marketed in the past that did quite well.

From 2004-2008 I ran an ebay store by the name of 420 Tech. R/C that specialized in mainly micro-scale R/C products. I produced a series of bodies for the radio shack X-mods series cars in 5 different body styles and 6 different paint schemes.I sold thousands of them in that 4 year time frame until I discontinued them when the popularity of the cars died.

I also produced parts for the Micro-t when it first came out.I produced steering links for the micro-t that I sold with a 3 month warranty. Sold thousands of sets with a total of less than 10 warranty issues.I discontinued those when Losi "borrowed" the material I was using and started making the stock links out of the same polycarbonate I was using for mine.;)

I also beat all the aftermarket manufacturers to the punch by releasing the FIRST dampened shock set for the micro-t .I have the ebay sales records to prove that by the way:nod: those were discontinued when atomic released their grease style dampeners ( same style I was using) for the same price as I could offer the re-manufactured stock peices for.

I didnt post all that to brag, I just wanted those that are interested to know that I am not just some guy with a dremel tool that decided to make cars.My background in the manufacturing industry is extensive.I have held positions such as Maintenance technician, and Maintenance director at Stamping and Die and engineering factories.Until the auto industry started heading out of the area about 10 years back.Since then I have been either a crew supervisor, or a project manager for a landscape company specializing in hardscape work(patios, retaining walls,sea-walls,waterfalls,and ponds).Point being I have been a professional mechanical problem solver in one way or another my entire career life.

All of that gives me resources that most people dont have as far as knowing who to contact if I want peices machined , or water-jet cut in quantity. Which , if demand is shown after I get a few of these out there, will start being the way these will be produced.Outsourced to to facilities with cnc equipment which, in the long run, will mean lower costs right on down the line to the customer.

looks good.

At my track most people run the losi xxx-cr box stock set up with step pins on a dirt indoor track. Once I build my car, what sort of set up should I use? I was looking a the cr2 set up, and it says to add 150g of lead, but I'm concerned that will make my buggy to heavy to be competitive due to speed and acceleration.

150grams could be for a modified motor setup. I wouldn't put that much weight on board for stock racing, it's not needed.

got the top deck on the xxx-b42

looks very nice...

I started my mid motor xxx today. So far its going too easy, I trimmed just enough off the chassis, drilled 3 holes on the t plate, cut out 2 sections the width of the battery, trimed the edge brace just enough for the battery to fit, and hold it in with electrical tape atm, it only needs to prevent the battery from going strait up. All I need to do now is make the main brace, solder in motor, and fasten all the electronics/make room for them. Since I'm running a standard size rx and a havoc esc, I need to do some minor trimming for it to all fit. So once I get a soldering iron that works, i'll put in all the electronics and do a quick indoor test, the make a brace for it.

rcjunky1 12-31-2009 04:07 PM

how do you guys set your MM cars up? do you just run the same set up and do minor changes (same springs and shocks)? My buggy should be done and racing by the 6th, and don't lnow what set up to start with

mopar1994 12-31-2009 07:44 PM

heeres my setup that works awesome on an indoor carpet track with jumps

orange springs in the rear with 30 weight oil
green springs from a xxx-4 in front, im no sure if the xxx-4 shocks are longer or the same and 37.5 weight oil in front.

no washers on either end of the rear camber links.
2 washers on inside end of front camber link

and i moved the spacer thats on the inside of the front knuckle to the outside. its the spacer that the long screw goes through that holds the wheel hex

rcjunky1 12-31-2009 10:19 PM

Thanks for the help, but I run a packed dirt track with some big jumps, so your set up is of little value, but I think I'm going to start soft all around with 27.5wt all around and go from there, there is a couple locals that are awsome with set ups. Heres a link to my buggy thread (I'm Andrew)

hope you enjoy, going to get some treaded 4-40 rod and going to make 2 braces, one from eack of the motor guard screw area to the back servo brace area (if you know what I mean) The total cost so far is $5, and after the braces, I'll just need to mount the electronics, which I think will be mounts on to of the battery or on a plate on the braces.
