Losi mid motor conversion for the CR truck and buggy(I know alot of you guys will dig these!) 1/8 electric 4x4 SCT based on the academy sbv2 buggy/gas truck platforms. The main focus is to wrap up the gv2 based conversions and get them out there for the people that have been asking for them, then move on to the losi conversions. On the losi cars things are working out quite nicely thus far. They will be able to be converted using much the same style as I have used on the GV2 based cars right down to the adjustable counter gear cam plate. |
come on come on, lets wrap things up for the PSI GV2 G10 conv kit...:D:lol:
|
pm me when the losi counter gear set up is done, I'd be interested in just the countergear set up, the rest of my buggy is almost done, just going to reverse the motor atm.

I finished up my build today, why take 2 weeks when you can do it in 12 hours over 2 days (only because I needed some threaded rod and a good soldering iron, just an fyi, liquid solder on the thumb nail hurts) so I'm looking forward to racing this wednesday, unfortunatly can't run tomorrow. If you want pics, pm me, I'm keeping the good pics away from the locals so they have to come in person, and I know a couple have seen this thread :) The only issue I'm having is mounting the electronics, but I'm thinking of making a custom body as all the wires push on the roof and windsheild alot.

YA these pics dont do justice man you really did a nice job with it, and your son can turn heads with that truck on a rough rouch track...All the other trucks had rear ends spinning around trying to find traction and you guys had it nailed!!
Thanks for the props on the truck. That thing is SOOOOO dialed.Watching Brandon do so well with it was really inspiring.I think I am very pleased with the way both the truck and driver performed. To qualify 2nd, and finish 3rd in the class when there were over 130 entries is a pretty good first outing no matter how you slice it,especially on that wasted out track.I was really disapointed in the track condition. To have pot holes and ruts on an indoor semi-clay track that can swallow a 2wd buggy is just unacceptable.Especially when the track gets 125-200 entries per race day.I really hope that the man in charge gets a grip on that really quick. It would be a real shame to loose a track that has been around for over 10 years due to short sighted lazyness. Back to a positive note; Considering the rough track conditions I was really happy with the way the cars/trucks performed.Top 5 finishes in 2 classes, and top 10 finishes in 2 classes. Both Brandon and Todd made the Cars/Trucks look really good on the track.Good enough that it kept the visitors stopping by the pits all day long. The most common question was" what are brand are those cars?", followed by how much do they cost and how do I get one. Most all responses were very positive.I did get a couple of the usual 'Oh, it's an x-factory rip off' comments on the negative side, but I also got a couple of "You are really making those yourself?????Thats awesome!!" on the really positive side.I am kinda glad I decided to play pit monkey all day so I could feild questions. I didnt even race yesterday and I had more fun at the track than I have in a long time. |
glad your cars are goin fast. I did a couple laps today after todays racing (that I couldn't attend) and my buggy felt good. These things jump amazing, and they turn differant. I'm in desperat need of front tires to judge it, but it felt a bit faster, but in the jumps I think its faster then any 2wd I've seen, I almost can't jump the same way otherwise I jump too far, but once I get it set up a little better and get used to it, I see it being a slightly guided missile.
Heres an underbody shot, yes the wiring is a mess, but it works and barely fits under the body, but it works http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/v...t/IMG_0586.jpg and here it is with my signature blue electrical tape body, of course it has a section on the back added to cover the motor a bit better, but its weld up well, and its a crappy body to begin, most of the paint is peeling and it has a hole for a stock located esc fan to stick out. http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/v...t/IMG_0579.jpg |

Damn :p |
don't worry, thats before I set it up and I don't run those tires and wheels, those are just my clean indoor tires, doesn't get in carpet dirty :) post pics of your mid motor car

Is that reciever straped on with electrical tape? It looks good except that it looks like a bomb went off in there
|
To clean it up u could mount the reciver on the battery hold down/upper chassis brace by grinding off the now useless strap mount!!!
