Shock oil is not supposed to be used as a lubricant for the transmission. I love this new trend of using shock oil or Pledge for transmission lube. Pledge is 10% parafin wax, 10% silicone, 60% WATER and the rest is Isobutane and Propane. USE A FREAKING GREASE TO LUBRICATE THE GEARS. JUST BECAUSE IT MAKES THE TRANSMISSION QUIET, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S RIGHT. I run Boca Bearing, Lightning Lube in all of my cars transmissions and it works great. All of my cars are whisper quiet, and the gears last a really long time.

Hi learned friends. I have returned to my roots, 1/10 Electric Off-road.
I have purchased a SC10RS. Fitted a few options and stumbles upon a problem.
I fitted RPM Arms to the rear, Ball Diff (Associated) and non associated rear hub carriers. Now I matched all components up and they all appeared to be the same shape/size etc. So now a few questions.
Why do the dog Bones fall out of the hubs now?
Is there a need to fit longer CVD's to the truck to stop this?
If so what is the part number?
Anything else I should know?
Must say Associated have let me down with this truck. Both metric and Imperial fastners?? (WHAT THE?)

No need for the magic snake oils when the parts are fresh. Maybe when they are worn. Those team drivers don't know how to build a car. There daddy does that ;-)

I've raced with it once and it felt pretty good. I didn't notice a huge difference personally, but I've only raced the truck one other time. I got it mostly to remove some of the slop and did notice it help the truck track a little straighter on bumpy gravel.

[/IMG]I think the best thing to do is just upgrade to the CVA's, but if you want to save the cash you can try adding two o-rings inside the outdrive so that the bone can slide as far. I did that as a quick fix and it got me by till I got the CVA's

It's common knowledge, 50-70wt makes a good Tranny silencer, Get over it and use your crap.

Okay here's a speed secret none of you know: KY brand jelly. You won't find anything better. It takes the heat, resists moisture, lasts a long time, and best of all gives you the most pleasure.

[/IMG]My bones started popping out too, but I did RPM's from the start so didn't no they could have been the cause. Maybe they are a tiny bit longer.

I don't recall any metric on my truck except for the motor screws? Am I missing some?

Wow, this is getting reallyyyy wierd
But then again, that's why I like this message board over all other SC10 one's. We go from talking about diff's to anal lube in a matter of just a few posts. I'd hate to see where we go from "anal lube"

. You can figure out the rest.
