Yay motor, esc and servo arrived today, getting the soldering done tonight.
Do I need any spacing on the Savox 1268SG (HV) servo for the SC10FT? I'm presuming I also use the Futaba Horn as well, just gonna need to push it on as its a little small, at least it wont come off lol. |
Yes, use the F horn. No need for shims for my 1258, not sure about yours.

Rear Hub/A-Arm Gap
My sc10 rtr seems to have a lot of slop between the rear hub and A-Arm. Confirmed the spacers were on both sides of the hub. Is this normal? Anyone double up on the spacers to minimize the gap? Thanks

Team Blue Star
Anyone running the Team Blue Star shocks on an sc10??
How do you like them? |
gearing issues
I was wondering if anyone was using LRP motors with the SC10? I have just bought the vector K4 8.5 turn motor. The final drive ratio they gave for off road truck was 10:1 while 2wd and 4wd off road was 9:1. The closest I was able to get to 10:1 was 10.4:1 and the motor temped 207. I then tried the 9:1 and did runs at 9.4:1 and 9.1:1 and the temps kept climbing. I am baffled. Any gearing suggestions?

9:1 puts more load on the motor compared to 10:1 , that 10:1 is already too high; AE recommends 12.85:1 FDR with 8.5T motor and AE recommendations are a bit overgeared on some surfaces. The more grippier the track, the more strain on the whole drivetrain. Running 84 Spur with 19 Pinion on mine, as recommended by AE, on dirt runs flawless, motor temps never surpass 65°C (150°F), raced it on sunday on grass; same setup, motor temps were 100°C+ (220+°F). |
I'm geared 84/18 on my 8.5 ballistic sc10.

Just a quick and Partially dumb question...what would happen if you put a 550 motor in the SC10?

What type of track was you running. Tight technical or wide open high speed track. My track is wide open with big air times. Long straights for high speed runs.

Just curious to what are necessary upgrades for the brushless rtr? It seems like a killer deal but also seems like it would need a bunch of upgrades to get it legitimately race ready, not just for dorking around the yard.

That's what I have heard. I've heard of some people replacing the gear diff with a ball diff, then the usual things like tires (fronts I've been told), radio etc...
|
If you're gonna be racing, you're better off getting a FT. You'll spend more than twice as much upgrading the RTR. V2 shocks, V2 slipper, bearings for the steering rack, ball diff, carbon batt strap, CVDs, new radio, ESC, Motor... it all adds up. Don't ask me how I know.. LOL
