I think that truck is beautiful. Pretty enough to hang over the fireplace. I wish I had the talent and skill to build something like it. |
Do you guys have any tips on setting the clutch? I can't ever seem to get it right on my SC10
|
Crank it down and back it off a quarter to a half turn
|
Ok, I was backing out 2 full turns. I'll try half. Hopefully I don't strip out another idler.
|
If you're stripping out idlers you've got a whole 'nuther set of issues there, feller. Probably a toasted transmission bearing or you're just landing on the throttle WAY too much (which the 2nd one isn't likely, because that's how ThunderbirdJunkie rolls, and aside from having to fix the too-thin-shim issue in the diff he's had zero transmission issues)

Tighten the slipper nut two threads past the top shaft ...
|
The idler only stripped because I had the spring tightened all the way down. I got frustrated and just cranked it down. I took it around the track and it finally felt like it was putting the power down. But after a few jumps, the idler stripped out. I guess it is the weak link when you have no clutch to slip. Since then, I have just been tightening it a bit at a time.
I've heard two things from local guys. 1. Crank it down and back out 2 turns and adjust from there. 2. Tighten it till 2 threads are showing just like wild cherry said. Still slips more than I would like it to. Others have suggested to replace the pads or sand them. I think I am going to try to upgrade to the v2 slipper. |
On my B-4 ? I'm running the slipper even looser,
nut flush with the shaft . Almost every racer I run into is running their slipper way to tight . Even guyz that have experience....;) |

Anyone running the RC8TE Big Bore shocks on their SC10? If someone has pics, please post.
What type of surface do you run them on? I currently have Team Losi XXX-T shocks on my car. I run my SC on asphalt and dirt. Was gonna keep the XXX-T shocks for asphalt and use big bore for dirt. Chi |
