I'm running 23/81 on mine. I used to run a 10.5 and it had lots of speed and the motor didn't get hot at all. Going to try the same gearing on a 13.5 this weekend.
|
18/87 for me on a 9.5t.....temps after a full pack around 140
|
16/87 with a Sidewinder 4600 on 2S
|
I was running a 8.5t (approx 4200kv) for a while geared 17/87.
I've got a flashy new LRP X-12 10.5t on order.....gonna try 19/87 to start with on that beast.:tire: |
I'm Running 18/87 with x-12 7.5. 5000mah 40c with temps around 160 on a full pack. and its a light weight set up.

v2 shocks
I built my sc10ft tonight, but do have a question, or comment of sorts.
The new v2 shocks are easier to build, but I cannot for the life of me see how they could function much better. The bleeder caps are cool, but the shocks appear to use the same seals loaded form a different direction. |
Wow, most people are running close to factory brushed gearing which is 16/87 or 20/87 depending on when you got your truck. I have no clue where Associated got their gearing chart from, whoever did it was smoking crack :weird:

So are you saying they still leak like a siv??
I thought with the V2's the leaking problem was mostly solved......not sure if it's to do with different o-rings or what the deal is. Has anyone with the FT SC10 experienced any leaking with the V2 shocks? |
i use these o-rings, mcmaster part number 90025K123, www.mcmaster.com
$7 for 100. they have a little more "stiction" than the silicone o-rings, but i'd rather have shocks that don't leak. |

Has anyone with the FT SC10 experienced any leaking with the V2 shocks? Relax , Even the old style shocks did not leak if assemble correctly.. I have been running the V2 for over a week now and just rebuilt um last night .. No leaks from the V2, not even a little.... |
I'm pretty sure I was relaxed when I typed in my questions about the V2's.
Both the stock SC10 and the V1 FT shocks leak for me. I've built them as per instructions and guides on the net including using the green slime on the o-rings and easing the shock shaft through the o-rings so to not damage them. All to no avail. That's why I'm curious if anyone has had issues with the V2 FT shocks. I don't wanna go dropping $80 if these ones still leak. I've built shocks before that don't leak, so would be nice if the V2's don't. And if everyone's having good success with the V2's then all is good:cool: |

Maybe it does not matter but I use the Losi fluid. |
Willy I believe you (relax).;)
I would take one of your shocks apart and check if you stacked the o-ring or spacer incorrectly, also check to make sure the lower cap seal is tight .... Slime the seals & refresh the seals if they have been expose to the shock more than week for like new performance .. I'v been running the V2 on my Team Sc for about 4 or 5 club meets & a few practice days.... Hope you find what is causing your problem.. |
