SC10 Thread

When you guys did the RPM front arm switch did yu use the hinge pins they recommend using? If the ones on the truck are too long can we just grind the ones we have down to fit? My LHS has the arms but not the new hinge pins...

Here's a How-to: Add RPM arms to SC10

The inside pins fit fine the out side is a little long. You can order the outside pin set for $5 or so and then have spares.

I just bought some premount split six bowties front and rear on the SC10 and lowered my shock oil from 70wt to 30wt...
BIG improvement... But I was surprised that you get slightly more traction with the Bowties over the stock tires, but it's not like it's night and day.
My rear end still breaks loose...
I'm using stock suspension setup except my pistons are #1. 30wt front and rear, mid shock top position front and rear, and the outermost hole for the lower position.
I also have four 1/4oz weights in the rear, behind the battery...
Anymore tips on how to set this up to lessen fishtailing? Anyone here use a sway bar? It worked on my B44 for the fishtailing problem...

Did u put on the losi 2 degree rear hubs? I run the biggest piston hole in my shocks using 35 oil on green springs...Goosebumps=night & day difference

Maybe I'm just expecting too much out of this truck? My other off-roaders are all 1/10th 4wd buggies, so maybe it's just my expectations needs to be adjusted for a 2wd SC truck?
I've alternated between the B44 and the SC10. It was like hopping back and forth between two opposite worlds..

Nice to meet you today Tom.
Unfortunately I wasn't driving much today and spent most all of the day building a new truck. Now I'll have an open and a stock short course.
next time you can drive my truck and I'll try yours. You have a great start with dropping from 70wt.

Yea just because it hasn't gone wrong for some doesn't mean you will be fine.
I had that setup and didn't change them out and they kept coming out the front of the arm.
I'm just letting you know it CAN happen. The pins are really cheap to get.

Matt, it was great to meet you too. Seems like you're the local fast guy, would be cool to get some tips from you!
One gripe with this truck, is it me, or does the gear cover suck? First, the black cap to access the slipper nut is not very snug (it came off a few times), second, after screwing it down, the portion near the spur gear gets contorted and leaves a gap for dirt to fly in...
I don't remember this with my FT B4 back then, should I just toss it aside and get an RPM one? I think it's partly user-error, I'm tweaking the top screw down too tight I think... Probably should back off on it and just apply thread lock? I'm just trying to prevent that screw from backing out under vibration and popping the gear cover off...
How are the RPM gear covers? Should I not bother and just get the "semi-transparent" white ones I see on T4s and B4s?
