hey guys i almost have everything i need for my build but i can't decide on a motor/esc
i've had the CC 5700 in my slash and had heat issues even on 2S(gearing aside)
i looked at CC4600 combo
Tekin 537 motor w/ mamba max- but i don't understand how its a 5T motor but only 3700kv
I'm somewhat interested in Novaks New Ballistic motors- the 8.5t w/ their esc. What do you think about them?

Cool product. But does this mean you will have to take your body off, and then the overtray off to turn your truck on and off? Maybe JConcepts already has a solution on the overtray for this, but if there's not ,here is a simple solution. Take a small cotter pin and solder it to a small wire then shrink wrap it for looks. Drill a small hole in your chassis to match your wire size. Cotter pins being soft you can pinch it (with a needle nose pliers) around your Speed Controls on and off switch button. Then on the outside of the chassis add a collar with set screw. Make sure you position your on and off switch to turn on when you push it in just in case you get hit during a race. I made my own chassis cover a while back so I had to come up with a solution. Hope this helps

just a heads up me and my buddy's havoc's seized on us..first mine went the shaft was totally frozen solid. my gearing 18/87..motor temp 135...then my buddy's did the same thing his gearing 16/87..motor temp..145 both systems less then a month old. we were both in the gearing range according to Novak's chart we shipped them out still waiting to hear back from Novak. I'm disappointed in their motor's i spoke to a couple of guys at my local track and their motor's gave them problems.

the on/off switch trick is what I used to use when i raced the R/C boats.
you need to "clip" something to the shaft when you shut it off so you can't accidently turn it on in the pits. Something like an allagator clip would work.

great, i thought i had it all figured out. I've heard they have great customer service. I'm interested in hearing how they fix your problem? So you had the havoc series motor? any bad things to say about the new line of ballistics? I've always heard good things about novak. it sucks to hear that
maybe look into 4600 sidewinder people that are running seem to like them with no problems that i can recall..

. I have hit pipes and rebar hard enough to send it barrel rolling at full speed.
