That looks great! How did you put 12mm hexes in the front? I put my Slash rear wheels on the SC10 and that works great, but I'm not sure about the fronts? The bearings are in the wheel on the SC10,but are in the spindle on the Slash so no worky

you need to "clip" something to the shaft when you shut it off so you can't accidently turn it on in the pits. Something like an allagator clip would work.

Thanks Bob O thats a great idea. I have a lot of old allagator clips laying around from my old hippie days back in the 60's LOL

Number of turns is only one of the variables when you are generating a magnetic field. Wire size, wire metallurgy, number of wires, type of magnets, clearances, and a lot of other stuff I don't know

In a couple of years it's going to be very interesting to see where brushless goes. Cheaper motors, more than just a Kv rating to tell one from another, ect..

I found out I can go brushless with my dyno, that will help figuring out how to class them.

KV ratings are enigmas. Their is no real accurate way to make a comparison because each company seems to have their own standards of rating.

Default Rear diff...

Hey sorry about asking a question that I know the answer lies somewhere in this thread but 151 pages is way to much to read, and I couldn’t find what I was looking for in my random searches.

I finally bought the sc10 today after months of debating. I bought the Pro Comp rtr, as I wanted the electronics for an older truck, any way...

Rear transmission gearing. I can build a stealth and diff in my sleep as they are almost the same sice the beginning of time.

Planetary gears new to me. I want to "tighten" up the rear and try to slow down the one wheel wonder

I have read to use shock oil ? and the guy at the lhs said to pack the planetary gears with grease.

Can someone please tell me what works so I don’t make a mess and get aggravated doing the same thing two or three times.

AE black grease is the way to go, you don't need to pack it just a nice coat will do. Make sure you rebuild the diff with the supplied extra shims before you drive it.

If this is what one of the fastest guys at OCRC says, I think I would go a little more that black grease.

Ill do the rebuild with the shims, but would an automotive type grease work, or would that cause damage to the plastic parts?, not work as well ? and or is it just a bad idea.

I have a tube of the AE grease but Im just wonderng about the automotive grease.
