Well i tried the 17 pinion with the 75 spur (with my castle 4600) and i cant get it close enough to mesh period..So what pinion could i use with the 87 tooth stock spur?..I know that there was a gearing chart somewhere but i havent been able to find it as of yet..Thank you

Try a 19 tooth.

Does anyone have any new setups they have messed around with? I know someone has hit the sweet spot on the setups. Share the good!

Sorry to ask this, I know somewhere's here it's been asked and answered before.

Normally when I build a car, I like to build it once. What add on's should I be looking to add or change? If you can give me part number also.

I plan on running pretty well stock, 17.5, Tekin RS.

Besides from the stock tires, what other tires should I have?

Are the pro-line front and rear rims (http://www.prolineracing.com/p-697-s...-for-sc10.aspx worth it?

Are aluminum parts worth it? If so which ones? Part numbers?

Shocks?

Any other suggestions for building this?

Thanks for any help.
Any answers????????

Tires: Look into the Pro Line Bow Tie SCs, Pro Line Switch, J Concepts Goose Bumps.

Wheels: Running a 17.5 on 2S, those wheels should work fine.

Aluminum Parts: Other than a Cuda, or Looney chassis brace, and the ST Racing rear hubs(SCT584-T1B) w/ 1 degree of toe built in, aluminum parts are not really necessary.

Shocks: are more of a personal preference. Rear, 37.5wt oil, green springs. Front, 30wt oil, gold spring.

The the hubs w/ the extra toe really help, and you may want to run the GT2 front arms on it.

Anything else, check us out.

any chassis brace is a must! f n cuda makes one i believe.

as for tire selection... for clay i use stock sc10 wheel, traxxas wheel, or sc8 wheel.for dirt. j concepts goosebumps or proline bowties.

proline beadlocks are nice but not nessesary. people also use 1/8 wheels with adaptors.http://2008.neweramodels.com/index.c...ted&model=1109

aluminum parts are okay but they tend to break something else. after breaking my front arms twice. i recommend rpm front a arms http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/product...c/GT2Parts.htm

associated threaded shocks are good.

on my 17.5 setup i use 75 spur pinion 29- 23 just gotta find your sweet spot.
check your temps every run.

hope this helps. have fun!

the stock shocks leak pretty bad due to the plastic cap,at least mine do.I'm going to try some plumbers thread tape on the shock threads to see if that fixes the problem.Aside from that i really like the way this car went together.I just took it out in my parking lot for a quick spin this evening and i really like the way it handles.I 'll have to go pick up a few pinions tmr as i need to figure out what combo (pinion/spur) will work best with my CC4600 motor.Really a nice kit though. Also lotsa of good tips here in this thread.Pay special attention to the diff/shim tip and the servo saver needs to be pre-threaded before you snug it down.I went ahead and added to the two extra small shims from the outdives on top of the bigger ones under the pin and so far it seems to be real smooth.Once i get my motor pinion combo figured out i think this will be a fun car ..

im running 4600kv motor and mine runs with the 87/14 and its runs around 135-145 after like 5-7 mins i have the timing all the way down and still has tons of power. i just bought the threaded shocks and will see what they feel like on there also changed the rtr shocks seals because they leaked alot and so far so good with mines.

anyone else got set up for 4600kv possible mine seems out of wack alittle
