Got the Dimec cups in and they are way different than the old HD ones. First they go on really easy, I did not expect that, you can put these on with just one wrench on the shaft, super easy compared to the old ones, and they have more notch built in, nice. I haven't ran this car in a while because of the ball cups, but the handling is really nice. I plan on running it next week after the moulded gear differential change. So I was not imaging things when I noticed my pinion got tight on certain sides of the spur gear, unreal! They really are oblong then.

Anybody have any problems with the "steering drag link" stripping out. This is the link that goes between the servo horn and servo saver. I had mine pull out on a crash last night.

Man, I WISH someone had recorded my run in the C-main yesterday. My car was on rails and NO ONE could touch me. Would have made the A-main easily but some hothead didn't like that I passed him going into the straight and decided to try and out brake me in Q2 and clipped my left rear putting me into the pipe, sheering my right front arm in the process and I dropped to the C.

I got the car repaired immediately and was ready for the C and started 5th and by the 5th or 6th turn I checked out!!! I was flying and lapped the entire field (including 2 413's ) by the 5th lap. Best run in a long time and my car was as my good friend Felix Law would say… Supah Dialed! He's so good a set of tires only lasts a single run, and when I was done, I was shocked to see my fronts done and it was my last set of new tires.

Bumped up to the B-main in the 7th spot and as I knew would happen, carnage ensued in the first corner and I waited for it to unfold so I can do as I always do and whisk right on past, but a turn marshal got overzealous and started launching cars back onto the track and he laid the first one down at a sideway angle right into my car and spun me into the wall and didn't notice and kept untangling cars and then went back to his box before he realized he left me stranded. By that time I was dead last by over a third of a lap, but I stayed in it to pass a few guys to finish 5th. Either way I had no tires left for the main so I wouldn't have done too well.

My tire combo is by far the best yet but for the first time I ran them on the Borego wheels and it was even better!!! For any of you racing on REAL Off-Road dirt tracks, I implore you to try DD Fronts and Splitter rears. They work in any conditions except muddy (which I'd never run in anyway - too much work to clean - LOL) and when grip is high it feels like you're driving a slot car.

The 410 is simply the best car I've ever driven. Still eying the SB401 to see how well it performs, but since it's yet another take off the 410, I expect it will be quite similar. Either way my 410 ain't join' nowhere!

Thank goodness 4WD mod has grown to be the most popular class at our 2 tracks!!! Almost 40 entries yesterday!

Has anyone considered using this style of battery for lighter weight? I think it would be especially good in a 17.5 class:

I'm not sure who else makes one like this yet. I'm sure we will see some more from the rest of the manufacturers though.

I'm testing about 7 different batteries for a friend and one of them is a full size stick pack that weighs as little or less than a Shorty. It's vastly lighter than the regular race stick pack we're testing simultaneously.

He's also looking into an Ultra-Light Shorty for Stock racing which should allow for quicker lap times on certain types of tracks. Seems Trinity is thinking along the same lines.

Yes but doesn't everyone say that the 410 is too light with a shorty pack and therefore you have to add weight to the rear, or does that only apply for mod? I was looking at a team powers shorty pack 4800 85c does anyone know if there any good?

The 410 is PLENTY heavy!

Lighter batteries are an excellent way of lightening the car up a bit. You just need to ensure that the front to rear balance is still good so as to maintain level over jumps and through turns.

Team Powers products perform excellently so I'd assume the batteries are no different.

The statement does say that the pro race team will be dissolved, so this explains why Ryan Lutz has left but what about Jorn Neumann and Gerd Strange?

They better have a great marketing program, because most manufactures go by "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" personas. It's a shame as I love to follow the "Team Drivers" at all the large events....Sounds like a bean counter move to me.
