I have tried caps in the reciever.I running a futaba 9351 servo..
A few things to check:

Remove the pinion and try to power the motor VERY slowly while watching the sensors. Make sure all the are cycling on/off while under power. If they go out the Rx8 already moved to dual mode, try again. It may take a few times to get it. You can cheat and use your throttle trim to get the required input.

Where are you geared? How much timing is set in the esc?

Hey Randy,

What would be good gearing to start with for a medium to large outdoor track on a Losi 8 with the RX8/1400kv combo on 6s?

Thanks

Pardon me for asking a stupid question,,,,, BUT... which way are y'all mounting the fan on the RX8? Label up towards the cage? or down toward the heatsink?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to say this Randy, the fans do not last long in off road situations. Try running without, they usually tend to be fine heat wise. Run a pack through it and check the temp every few laps. If you are geared right and have some vent holes in the body, you should have no problems. I gave up on the fan after ending up with one blade left. I noticed only a few degrees in temp rise but never gets over 3 light on the onboard temp. I run a rx8/1900 with 15/46 gears on a Mugen eco. Hope this helps.

mydex408 doesnt have any issues with the fan breaking but i think its because the body sits so low that the shock towers protect it when it flips over.

I race outside in 95-100 degree heat. Heat index of about 112.. And thats at 8 o'clock at nite. Then there's the 100% humidity as well...

Still think I don't need a fan?
