Will Tekin be updating the software for the RX8 to allow us to run the new high voltage servos at 7.4v like the nitro guys can?

The Rx8 does not have an adjustable bec at this time. If you need 7.4v you will need either a rx pack or a separate BEC setup.

Can I just plug a 2 cell lipo into the Rx (with proper lipo cutoff) and that will run the servo? Will that screw up the RX8? I assume I'll need to disconnect one of the ESC wires to the Rx, which one?

is the speed controller fan suppose to run all of the time? Or does it turn on when the esc gets to a certain temp?

Thanks

Warranty on both the motor and the esc are 120 days.

Yes you can run a 2s lipo pack with the RX8, simply unplug the Rx8's red servo lead.

The fan is temperature controlled. On at 140f and off at 120f.

If you want to test it simply unplug the Rx8 esc from the receiver, the fan will run all the time.

Randy, it appears that I may have another defective rx8 with the same symptoms as the first (no tones, no throttle, lights function).

Can you think of anything on my end that could be causing it? I have the esc mounted on the tekno esc plate with some 3M double back. It is a 2000 motor which never reaches excess of 130f. The rx8 has been coming off the track at around 110f. Performance was perfect with no glitching. I run a 7955 for the steering and the stock losi rtr servo for the breaks.

I use the castle bec set to 6v (the 10 amp bec) and have of course removed the middle (red) wire from the rx8 to receiver.

My driving isn't top-notch, but no major crashes or cartwheels.

I'll call for an RA on Monday, but would appreciate any other suggestions you may have. My only thought is to do the mousepad/shoegoo thing for some extra padding.

Tia

Default RX8 and Scx4 5.5

Awesome Combo for the SCTE!!! I ran mine today and it was flawless.. Thanks Ty for talking me into the 5.5 It was dialed.

My buddy had issues with his setup ( which I really hate because he and his friend bought the Tekins because of my influence and bragging about how well all of my Tekins have performed.

Anyway he was running the 4.5 and I had a brand new one in the drawer. he put it in and he got it goin, and won the first series race. so all ended well.

Randy, I just noticed your earlier post about pulling the red wire for 2s. I forgot all about that and ran 2s today with it connected. All went perfect, but did I hurt someting .

I believe he was talking about doing this only when using another battery to power the servo
