Default Need Advice

I am converting my rc8T into electric and have the Tekin RX8 with 2250 motor, will be using two 5000 reedy 2c packs. What will be a good starting point for gearing with the 50 tooth spur? Running outdoor on average size 1/8 scale track. Am I going in the right direction with setup/motor choice? Thanks for your help.

I just tried out my new 2250 in an Eight-T. It has a 14tooth pinion on 4s and it rips on my local track. I turned the timing to 0 and set the current to 60% to keep it under control. I think I should of went with the 2000kv, motor. Hope this helps..........

I ordered mine directly from Tekin, just give them a call.

will do that.

have to thank randy and the tekin crew for getting my esc's back to me for my out of state race next weekend. I put one of them in the car last night and hit up a local club race to test them out and make sure everything was good. 1st round had the wrong tires and made some mistakes and qualified 4th. 2nd round had the right tires and drove a clean heat to take the tq. In round 3 me and another driver were battleing bck and forth for tq and i los a shock nut about 4 mins into the race and droped to 4th. Started 3rd on the grid for the main and was able to get out front about 5 laps in and didnt look back from there.

Does anyone know if there would be a difference in going from a 40C 4s battery to a 25C 4s battery in power or heat running the 2050 motor? My 40C pack died and all I can find locally are 25C packs, thanks for any info.

I have the same truck with the same gearing and motor and I would think a 13 and a 14 tooth should be in your arsenal. Yesterday I tried a 12 tooth at our local track, it was too slow going down the front straight. I think a 13 and 14 should be good.

Yr ESC is most likely dead. Send an email to Tekin for an RA number to send it in for repairs. Please note that they are away for RCX 2010 so they'll most likely be back in a few days time. Give them time to settle things and I'm sure they reply to you.

i'm looking to get a bit more runtime out of my system, r8 1350kv truggy motor running on 6s, my question is about gearing...i am currently geared 15/45 in a 8t 2.0 and i am thinking about dropping to 14/44. I dont need the insane speed and my thinking is the slightly lower gearing will drop temps and wont demand as much current. your thoughts are appreiciated...thanks

I advise you limit the throttle to 80% radio or 90% without reducing the pinion and you will have lower temperatures and lower consumption
