Anyone run the 2050kv and 1900kv buggy motors back to back? I heard they have different windings (Delta, WYE) so I'm not sure which is best for me.

I'm coming from a 2650kv CC setup but its just too much power for racing.

What do you guys think is a better choice? (I realize the differences may be small.) Anyways, my track is fairly medium sized with good flow to it. It will be running on 4S and in an 8ight buggy.

When the ESC was working, I really liked the 1900Kv motor in buggy. It felt right on the track I ran on. others were running the 2050Kv and I didn't feel I was giving up anything to them.

I don't run current limiter at all. If I've got too much power there are other adjustments I'll go for first. Run lower TP settings like 1 or 2. Also lower your timing advance. Gearing in these cars is key so make sure you're geared for the TRACK! not just 40ish mph. Gearing for speed is a good place to start but in now way is it a perfect place to be.

If I'm still over powered you can also add some negative expo to the radio and or drop your throttle epa's down. I've dropped epa's on my throttle to where I'm just a touch faster than a nitro and have just enough power to clear sections and gained nearly 4 minutes of run time....

Does dropping the throttle EPA, affect the efficiency of the ESC?, would the temp of the ESC go up? I always thought the an ESC was most efficient at 100%?

That was with brushed motors, at 100%, the fets would be on all of the time. With brushless motors, the fets are switching all of the time, even at full throttle.

I currently have a Novak system in my SC8e and I'm about fed up with it. I was thinking of saying (*&^ it and getting a Tekin system. Is the built in BEC capable of running digital servos and do you have to do any voodoo to run a single pack? Also any reccomendations on motors for a 4s setup?

Thanks,
Steve

He's right, the fet's are switching on and off continuously as long as there's drive.

So reducing the "on" time if you will with less than WOT shouldn't increase temps. I've not seen it.

There is no "voodoo" or magic. Grab an RX8, install it, run. I only run digital servos and have yet to hear anyone else having an issue.

4s in what car/truck?

SC8e. Been out of it for a while so I'm more interested in drivability than leaving burnouts on the ground

I agree, 2000 or 1700 truggy in that setup. The 1700 will be more driveable.
