The smaller silver screws can be used to mount the ESC to a chassis. The larger black screws secure the fan into position over the heat sink. No worries they self tap once get them started.

I reccomend a good rosin core solder. I use Deans when I can. You get what you pay for that's for sure. 40/60 seems pretty standard.

The most important thing is to get good flow. Solder should be all the way up the sides of the solder posts, not just a little bit. What I do is tin the wires going into the post slots first. While they're still not I smash them with some pliers making them flatter. This allows them to fir right down into the slots which of course are pre tinned. Add a touch of solder to the iron tip, apply and whammo! Good flow and proper solder joint, nice and shiny.
Thanks for the tip on flattening the wires. When I set my RX8 combo up at the track I couldnt' get the round tinned wires into the solder posts without pushing down on them from the top with the iron. That as a bit frustrating. When I redo them I'll flatten them as you suggest.

push control is the opposite of drag brake. It will creat a long coast to the car. We don't normally need this with our motors as they are a low cog torque design.

Hmm, sounds like that may be a good feature for the nitro guys who are having a hard time. I know it took me a bit to get the hang of having some slight motor drag on the diff when I let off the throttle.I like it now as I think it helps the car rotate. I "might" try some drag brake soon.
