The truggy motors are longer. I think specs are on the website

LOL that is kind of true tho!

I would just check to be sure it is spinning every so often and blow it out with and air compressor every run just to be safe.

Last year I was running a Novak system in my truggy and I ran a receiver pack to power the servos in my Tekno conversions since it uses a servo for breaking. It was recommended that I run the pack to maintain enough voltage for both servos if i was under acceleration. Does Tekin recommend the same or can I lose the receiver pack?

There should be no reason for a receiver battery or seperate BEC with the Rx8. Some people still prefer a seperate BEC since it has been a failure point on existing systems and is easier to replace than a speedo.

Speedos that have dual battery connections instead of a single connection typically have 3A linear regulators like 1/10 scale speedos. They are using one of the batteries like a 2S to produce the BEC power.

Higher voltage speedos with a single connection for the battery that allow 4s to 6S typically have a switching regulator that is capable of reducing the higher battery voltage down to 6V and supply up to 5amps.

The Rx8 is plug and play... and is best with a Tekin motor to take full advantage of its dual drive and high power capabilities.

So since the truggy motors are larger, I would have an advantage running them in my buggy?

I think i will do that.

Could anyone say why this would be a bad idea?

Electric motors give almost too much power as it is. Running a truggy motor in a buggy will just create more wheel spin then there already is. I tried it, and for bashing it is a lot of fun, but for racing, which is what the Tekin system is aimed at, there is no need for the extra power.

not for the extra power, but for the increase in surface area for thermal dissipation and the fact that it doesnt have to work as hard to push my buggy around. it seems like from what i have been reading temperatures on the cc 2200 truggy motor are lower then the 2650 buggy motor. All i am really concerned about is the temperatures.

anytime you drop in KV you will have better efficiency.

The truggy motors definitely should run cooler, so you'll probably want one over a buggy motor. I just hope you have a light trigger finger. Or as Jube stated, you can run a buggy sized motor on higher voltage with lower KV motor. Both set ups should run very cool.
