Hey all,

I dropped an Rx8 in my SCTE with a Revtech 4800 4 pole. Im running Ty's setup with a 14 T pinion.

my question is for some reason the battery went below voltage cutoff and puffed my lipo. After the run i checked the volatge on the lipo and both cells went below the 2S setting.

is there anything i can check my lipo cutoff settings or any troubleshooting i can do?

Lipo cutoff is off by default. Did you change it to 2s before you ran it?

Do you happen to have the Hotwire? If so you can set a manual cutoff higher than the default, that's what I do. I think the setting I chose is something like 3.64 or thereabouts...

This may not be a voltage cut off issue rather it could be a low quality battery issue. You can puff a lipo without hitting LVC.

What batteries?

Agreed. Older batteries are also more susceptible to puffing under heavy loads than the newer ones.

4 pole motors don't boost very well. I would suggest staying below 30 on the timing advance slider with the default start/end rpm's. I run my 4 pole motors at 10 and gear up if I need more power as this produces less heat than adding timing.

[QUOTE=edlee;10639646]Hey randy. I got a RX8 T8 1900kv motor in a rc8be with a 18 pinion and a 46 spur running a 4s 5000 mah pack, from what I have read its an appropriate gearing. I'm getting some awfully high temperature readings on my esc, all 7 leds and sometimes just led7 comes on. I also eventually lose all my reverse, the RX8 still receives the signal but nothing happens. When I let the RX8 cool down to suitable temperatures it works like a charm. Hope you can shine some light into this.

thanks,ed[/QUOTE5
