hi guys, i just got my first losi 8-e and love it. i had a ? though i currently am running a rx8 and t-8 2650 in my buggy, from what ive read so far is that 3s will pair up nicely with the 2650, and 4s is to much unless you tone everything down, but would a gens ace 3s 5000mah 40c last 20 min, or will i need to tame down the gens ace 4s 5000mah 40c in order to make a 20 main. i was running that power system in my losi scte with maxamps 2s 6500mah 150c, and i was getting 20 min on a small tight and tech track. i was also concerned on the weight of the 4s and overheating the motor. thanks guys for the advice in advance.

Hey,
Been into the 1/8 scale now for a few months. Got myself to start with the losi 8ight 2.0 RTR and after trials, errors and scored pistons I have decided to move to electric.
I just finish building my 8ight 2.0 EU roller and just ordered myself the losi conversion kit, hiteh high voltage servo, the MMM COMBO 2200 and have NOT bought the lipo's yet. I'm not into track racing as I'm more into speed drags and jump bashing.
Since I'm new to electric and I have a few questions I wanna ask.
1. For speed what would be the best gearing?
2. Would you use Metal or plastic gears?
3. I'm still not understanding the difference in all the lipo battery terminology. Could some one explain in my set up what lipo I would use??
That's all I could think of for now... Ill Think of more later

after going to the adam drake suspension setup it helped the handling quite abit. One question though is how do I get more steering? Im used to my SC10 4x4 with tons of steering and I want to set it up like that. Any suggestions on what I can do to get more steering?

I have the same battery. However I am currently running a 3S set up. I was planning on using a heat gun to heat the body up. then form it over the battery. Last time i ran my 4S w/ the stock body w/o heating and molding, it broke the nose off and I ended up just using velcro which works just fine. No Pro here but I hope it helps. Some of the other guys may have beter solutions.

There are lots of ways to improve the steering. You can remove the front sway bar. Use lighter fluid in front and use less rebound. If using the aluminum inline spindles/carriers, you can remove grind some material (about 2mm) off the spindles to allow more turning. It's a common upgrade that the Losi drivers make. Last week I had my 8ight turning real sharp (on par with an RC8Be), with no sway bar and lighter fluid up front, but it came at the cost of less rear traction.

Check the ride height. What weight of shock fluid are using f/r? This buggy seems to fly better with thicker fluid in the front. I noticed that an over powered buggy that's not getting enough traction will also jump nose high. The jumps themselves can also be the culprit.

I'll try upping the front weight! Thanks!
