Actually, we are planning on possibly going to the Nats this year- granted the track is in your backyard and it is 2500 miles away from us. I can see the Mastercard advertisement already:
Driving to California $1000
Entries to ROAR Mod/Stock Nats: $200
Eating at Del Taco $5
Beating moronic losi driver who thinks he's fast w/ 19T: Priceless

That does provide a little incentive. The only issue holding me back will my JOB.

The Nationals won't have any brushless in stock or 19t/10.5 if manufacturers don't get the motors sent in for approval.

Same goes for Lipo.

Awesome timing Ruel. Did you happen to run planet last weekend? Was the track iced up!? I am stoked for this weekend - points, new layout, cant wait. I ran at PNT w/ Gibson and it was as dry as a sandbox read: NO TRACTION. Looking forward to some grip this weekend.

And yea, someone needs to get Mr. Mom some Vagisil.

Nah, I didn't. Had some other stuff going on. I don't think I can make it this weekend either . What do we get? One or two throw outs? Should be up there the weekend after this though.

Mr. Mom that is freaking hilarious.

Chris, did you talk to Robins about winning the MOD class this past weekend in Fort Wayne. I guess the comments from Mr. Mom got him fired up. Also Planet wasn't to bad this weekend. It did take a little longer to dry out though. The heat was actually turned up a little but it was still pretty cold in there, I think around 50 or so.

Foolio, yea we get two throwouts so you should be good. I will not be there this weekend either I have prior arrangements.

I ordered a 17.5 just to see how it is. I am going to run it in practice at Planet when I am back up there in 2 weeks to see how slow it really is. With the ROAR rule change I can always sell it off to somebody or just keep it and maybe run it at PNT for the next points race.

from what ive heard 30/78 is a good place to start. Maybe even higher if you can find the gear.

I am running a 17.5 with a 82/26 ratio . It has a FDR of 7.4
based on Novak recommendations. I am going to try a 27 and 28 and check temps. Heck after running 4 battery packs one after another in a row
the motor has gotten hot but Esc didn't . I run sportsman class(novice).
I like the motor its giving good torque on a small technical track. But what it has taught me is to be a better driver (slow is fast is every one kept telling me at the track). The motor doesn't seem slow to me but I am a beginner.
I can understand some folks complaints but if you been running 27 t more than 2 years you should have really bumped up by now to a speeder class.
My son runs brushed, I like both brushless and brushed. Brushed has taught me how to clean a com, to replace brushes gave me a little better understanding of motor maintenance.
