FireBlade - You are mistaken. The transmission in both the XXX and XXX-T are exactly the same. There is no difference in the two units. The only changes that are made is the use of a larger spur on the the truck to achieve the lower final drive needed for the larger tires.
The XXX-NT and NTsport parts are interchangable but the NTSport gear is made of a slightly different plastic. Most guys are putting the stock NT gear back in if they have problems with the Sport gear. Also, the nitro and electric cars use different diff's and diff gears.

I thought the top shaft gear was 1 or 2 teeth more than the xxx-t?
Hrm, my bad, i must learn to count

The XX and XX-T used to be that way, but the XXX series uses the same drive ratio for both.
The XX used to be 2.19:1 and the XX-T was 2.61:1, they both used the same diff gear but had different top shaft and idler gears.

RonEB,
first of all STOP YELLING! (caps are considered yelling).
OS is a good engine, follow the instructions for set up and break in, the instructions give the start up settings. Other than that you need to adjust for your conditions. The Late Great Ron Paris method for setting low end is to run the engine until it is good and warmed up and then pull it to a stop and listen for the idle speed to drop. if it does you are too rich. Take this with a grain of salt though as Ron was a competition tuner. I would go there and then richen up an hour or two.
The other method is to pinch the fuel line and listen for the engine to rev from fuel starvation. If it does immediately, then you are about done. If it doesn't at all you are either on the edege or too lean. If it takes a second or two you are to rich.
The main adjustment should be done so that you can get a healthy amount of smoke out of the pipe. Otherwise keep an eye on the temp and richen if too hot.
none of these suggestions are good for break in however. Do this carefully with a rich engine that doesn't 4-stroke. the magazines have articles on this at least every three months, see if you can find some.
good luck

XXX-4 Diff/Slipper Setup Question
Hi Everyone,
I just got a XXX-4, and had a question on how to adjust the diffs and slipper on it.
The instruction doesn't say too much about how to adjust it so hoping someone can provide some extra details on how hard I need to tighten the diffs.
The instruction states that I must hold the two left tires and throttle the controller 1/4 of the way. I assume if the right tires aren't spinning, the diff is too loose. However, could my slipper be too loose too?
Any help would be appreciated. Hope this car is as fun as my Kyosho 7.5. I know it will be cleaner. LOL.
