Thanks... Much harder to find than I expected. I emailed Klinik seeing if they'll sell them separate.

Default Alloy Front Link Mount (U7134)

Ohhh exciting my first post !

I've just started building a Laydown kit and decided to upgrade the Front Link Mount to the Alloy version (U7134)

The Alloy part is threaded, and deeper, than the kit supplied part (U7642) meaning that when the captive ball joint is screwed in, not enough of the thread protrudes from the base to get the lock nut on ?

How have other people got around this when using the Alloy Front Link Mount ?

Are the Lock Nuts now unnecessary as the mount is threaded and I could just use a little loctite ?

Does anyone have a set up sheet for black CRC carpet? Interested in seeing what is being run for rear toe? Also anyone using the stock spec trans cases on the laydown? Is it much lighter?

I only have the SS transmission case, but it is crazy light. My guess is about 1/3 the weight of normal composite diff cases.

Default Setup

I am running 1.5 degree toe in on the rear. I pretty much followed Michal Orlowski's set up available here. http://site.petitrc.com/setup/schuma...D_CarpetSetup/

Sorry if this has been answered already but are the LD and KD chassis interchangeable? Or are the bolt holes specific for each car?

Yes. The chassis is interchangeable between the KC, KD and LD.

According to Cruise at the following link (and using Google translate from German to English), there are differences in the number of mounting holes drilled in each chassis. For example, position 1 for the KC/KD chassis (U7034) is not on the Laydown chassis (U7643). Schumacher Cougar Laydown - der UIT
https://www.rcweb.de/index.php/Threa...-UIT/?630ab982
"Wie gesagt 52 Löcher.Das befähigt den geneigten Cougar Benutzer sowohl das Cougar KD und das KC Getriebe in Position 2,3 und 4 einzusetzen.
Auf mich hat man mal wieder nicht gehört, ich war wohl der Einzige der auch position 1 benutzt hat."

Comparing page 33 of the KC manual and page 29 of the KD manual to page 35 of the Laydown manual, it appears the Laydown includes an extra position for the battery posts.

Comparing the exploded diagrams, it appears there are additional holes in the Laydown chassis to support the removable radio tray.

Can someone verify if both chassis (U7034 and U7643) are the same length?

Thanks for the help guys! Basically looking at converting my KD to a LD. It’s 1 club day old. The outdoor track is a bit of a long drive. I could just get a LD but they’re equivalent to $420 USD in New Zealand at the moment 😬

Yes they're the same length, the u7643 just have some more holes as you mentioned

And the -5 chassis for kc/kd and ld are also the same lengths

I've been racing the Cougar LD SS in the stock class but looking at switching it up to modified class, are there parts so the stock spec be switched (slipper etc?) or is it best just getting the non SS kit.

Forum member Razor RC makes great YouTube videos including one on the SS. I think he goes into detail what is different from the non SS model. I know he also did a video about modifications he made. Good luck
