Got the new shocks in, turns out they are for an emaxx and the springs were waaaaay too stiff. Had to run Losi 1.6 rate 22t rears to soften it up. Finally was able to mount it high and level some things out. Articulation is decreased, but as expected, it crawls better without flexing all over the place.

Next up is a nice set of multi purpose tires and wheels. I'm thinking a of going cheap for these and dedicating them to mud and light FOFF. What do you guys think of the old school Traxxas Masher look a likes with the chevron plus the rubber spikes on some RPM Revolvers? I find myself in the mud most of the time and with snow coming, I feel like wider is better?

Christmas will bring Predator tracks....but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves!!!!!

Good start. Just make sure you get wheels with goood hex's or you'll blow them out.

I went with hpi Rock grabbers, now I'm looking at wheels. These things are completely ridiculous from a cost perspective.... I'm gonna have to save some pennies jeesh

Well only expensive if you want beadlocks. Proline sells some nice 2.2 wide wheelbase glue style rims for 10 bucks a pair. I have 6 of them for my 6x6

I used quite a few sets of 2wd stampede front wheels. Very inexpensive.

well, i opted for the redcat everest beadlocks with the gun metal colored rings. the shocks i have on now have gun metal bodies, so it made sense, and i picked them up on fleebay for $28 new...seemed like an OK deal.

so I saw a thread somewhere else on here or who knows about "holes in tires" regarding water, mud and debris. being as i can't seem to stay away from mud(on purpose, i love it), i cut my stock tires(already mounted and i'm not baking them) so i could remove the foam, reglued, then put three 1/8" diameter holes in the base of each tire. i was worried until i drove it like that....works great for keeping them dry and flat tires grip like crazy. assuming you guys all know this, but just in case!

LED's....
does everyone run a BEC if they have some lights? I wanted to toss the RC4WD mini light bar on top, two more 5mm whites in front and two 5mm reds in back. i'm half tempted to chuck a 9v battery in the mix with an on/off case. my biggest concern is my servo is already sucking the life out of my rx, and the glitch buster is helping, but i don't dare plug anything more in without glitch tastic issues....

your thoughts?

I'd run the servo directly off the battery I'd ya running 2s lol. At least I did so with my daughter's ax deadbolt. Is a hk servo. But does 20kg at 7.4v. Also the lights on hers run 2s with a toggle.

Lol.run the signal wire to rx and positive and negative you can either solder on to battery lead (esc side)or you can get a plug for balance port and run hot and ground there.but this only works on 2s.if your running 3s and up ya need a bec.
