Are you ready? Are you ready? Well Friday was upon us and that means it was race night. The week of smack talk was up, and it was ready to put up or shut up. A great turn out of hungry gladiators were all in attendance ready to do battle. Neither snow nor cold could keep them away. So, lets get to the results.

Touring Stock B Main: (By Blaine)

The lineup of Young Gun, Bulb, Who Can, Slow Is Fast, Green Machine, Funky Bunch and Wheels for B main was sure to be exciting! The race started with everybody getting away clean for one lap. Then there was some carnage as Young Gun stuffed his TC 7.1 into the sweeper corner. Funky Bunch quickly jumped into first and Young Gun down to second while the rest of the field remained pretty consistent. Funky Bunch having only previously lead a main for (3) milliseconds was excited to be up front and take lead position, however his time out front would match his previous (3) milliseconds before dropping back down the field. Who Can was laying down a fast pace and his car was looking great until (1) mistake caused him to leave the track and pack up his gear with a broken car. Slow Is Fast and Bulb had a great race matching times and switching back and forth. Slow Is Fast would run a slower time but more consistent to keep with his modo slow as fast. Wheels continues to do better week after week and this week was no exception having improved his fast laps from last week and finishing with a respectable 5th place! Green Machine Green struggled with his car and was out of the main early with breakage.

Results: Carter “Young Gun”, Gordon “Slow is Fast”, Tim “Blub”, Mark “Funky Bunch”, Scott “Wheels”, Ian “Who Can”, Matt “Green Machine”

Touring Stock A Main: (By Blaine)

The Pinnacle of stock racing was filled with fast drivers and One Lap. Scat Man, The Matador, Mr. DNF, Minnie King, Cobra, One Lap and King Kwong all made the field of the A main. In the 3rd Corner Scat Man got offline causing The Matador to go wide and peel One Lap off of the track ending his challenge for first place for the 7364583 week in a row. Mr. DNF took advantage of the accident and jump from 4th to 2nd where he ran smooth consistent laps for three laps... then boom back down to 4th. Minnie King having started in second took over first place where he was under assault from Scat Man until a slight bobble let Scat Man pass. Cobra was out on the track running smooth clean laps, his car looked great and was super consistent and fast! Soon he's going to be challenging thousand lap a week The Matador. King Kwong made it 15 laps until he went wide into the sweeper and ripped the back end of his car off causing him to go immediately to online shopping for new parts.

Results: Kerry “Scat Man”, Walter “Minnie King”, James “The Matador”, Cal “Mr DNF”, Cameron “Cobra”, Blaine “One Lap”, John “King Kwong”

Euro Truck A main:

Diesel smoke and dangerous curves was the theme for the night in the euro truck class. A convoy of five trucks lines were up to take the start with Speed Lines Inc. up front follow by Fat Stacks Transportation Inc., Cheese Hauling Ltd., Maverick Cartage Inc. and Bulb’s Loam and Grass Ltd. With the motors revving and low gears engaged they were off. Speed and Fat Stacks battling to get the load went charging into the first corner. It was like a scene out of Discovery's Highway thru Hell, carnage was everywhere. All we could hear was OMG the humanity. Like Cool Hand Luke, the Cheese and Bulb put the hammer down and when the smoke cleared we had the Cheese and Bulb battling for load supremacy. The Maverick decided he wanted in on the action and found high gear and got into the mix, however the wreckers got to the scene quickly and had Speed and Fat Stacks back in action. The Maverick was busy watching his mirrors that were soon filled Speed and Fat Stacks. Both had the hammer down and soon were past poor Maverick who would soon settle for fifth and no loads on this day. At the front Bulb was all over the Cheese with Speed and Fat Stacks closing. It was anyone’s guess who would make their dock time and get the load. Cheese was the first to flinch and looked like he had a blow out allowing Speed and Bulb through. Fat Stacks, ever the opportunist, sent The Cheese back to the shop for repairs and a fourth place finish. A slight problem emerged, it looked like Bulb was suffering from an emission related problem, which is common in modern trucks, allowing Fat Stacks to close in. Fat stacks must have become whoosie from the skunk like aroma Bulb's truck was kicking out. A whoosie Fat Stacks would have to settle for third on this day. Bulb's truck was healthy enough to continue and brought home a great second. On this night it was the unit from Speed Lines Inc. who brought home the bacon and secured the win.

Results: Tommy "Speed Lines Inc." Tim "Bulb’s Loam & Grass Ltd.", Ivan "Fat Stacks Transportation Inc.", Sammy "Cheese Hauling Ltd." Benny "Maverick Cartage Inc."

Touring Mod B main:

Webster’s defines “speed” as the rate at which someone or something is able to move or operate. This is what the heat of B main mod drivers were trying to achieve last night, were just slightly off. We had a great heat of fast guys and Cal. Up front we had Mr. DNF on pole followed by Maverick, No Respect One Lap and King Kwong. On the tone we had Mr. DNF launch like he was trying to put a Roadster into orbit. The battle appeared to be for second. Maverick lost that loving feeling and promptly got into No Respect One Lap and both crashed and burned. King Kwong snickered and mumbled pewnie humans and leaped into second. Maverick was feeling the need for speed and quickly caught King Kwong. King Kwong was dreaming about the Empire State building and not paying attention. Maverick was quickly through and never looked back. Mr. DNF was way up the road from this battle and came across the unsuspecting No Respect One Lap whom was driving on Mr. DNF’s line. Mr. DNF was having nothing of it and quickly dispatched the No Respect One Lap to the wall, too which poor old No Respect One Lap never recovered and brought his car home in fourth. King Kwong put on a good fight but was no match for the high G loading afterburning Maverick and had to settle for third. Maverick has too fast too late to mount any challenge for Mr. DNF and had to settle for second. What is there to be said about Mr. DNF he drove hard and fast and took no prisoners to come home for the win. Great heat.

Results: Cal “Mr. DNF”, Benny “Maverick”, John “King Kwong”, Blaine “No Respect One Lap”

Touring Mod A Main:

The pinnacle of touring car racing was upon us. With crazy speed, tremendous power, and a tight track we were in for a treat. On the line we had the hottest cars with the hottest drivers of the night lined up and ready to do battle. Up front we had the Professor, followed by the Beard, Speed, Fat Stacks, and the Cheese. You could just hear Michael Buffer say, “Let’s get ready to rumbbbbblllllleeeeee”. On the tone we had tires struggling for grip, motors boosting and car rocketing into the first corner. Up front The Professor was deep into his lecture and building a very slight lead. The Beard thought The Professor’s lecture was a bit out of date and decided to take over. The Beard put a sweet pass on The Professor and he was through into the lead. Next to think the lecture was a bit dry was that Bad Boy Speed. Speed, like John Bender, from the Breakfast Club had enough of the status quo and was through to second and in chase of The Beard. The Professor, sensing he was losing control of the class put chase and made contact with Speed. Speed was damaged and sent to detention and was out. This bobble allowed the local rich kid Fat Stacks through to second. Fat Stacks was driving hard and fast, as only he can, and set after The Beard. The Cheese was setting up to show more disrespect for The Professor, by bringing out the Limburger scent to throw The Professor off, but to no avail. The Cheese decided that it was best to practice and settled in for fourth. The Professor put on a valiant drive to try and catch Fat Stacks, but Fat Stacks was laying bills down on the track causing The Professor to have to settle for third. The Beard was out cruising and controlling the pace however the cagey Fat Stacks was closing in but just ran out of time and brought home his car in second. With his beard flowing in the wind and on his game this night and the Beard was not to be denied and took a well-deserved win.

Results: Matt “The Beard”, Ivan “Fat Stacks”, Jim “The Professor”, Sammy “The Cheese”, Tommy “Speed.

What a great night on racing. Remember to check out Gordon’s great videos and see you all next week.

Friday night was upon us once again, and with the weather heating up we knew we were in for a Hot night of racing. Smack talk filled the air all week long and it was time to see if those words could be backed up by amazing results. When everyone arrived, no one knew that we would witness a miracle in mod this night. Let’s get to the action.

Touring Stock A Main (By Blaine):

The action the A Main was sure to be exciting with eight drivers all lined up and ready for the tone. Out front we had Scat Man, Minnie King, The Mouth, Fat Stacks, King Kwong, Funky Bunch, Butterfly and Wheels! When the wheels started rolling it was The Mouth that tried waive his cape to distract the other drivers. However, his flair and style caused him to drive into the corner and a pile up in sued. Driving around the pile up and laughing at everybody testing their hard bumpers was Fat Stacks! His smile was bigger than posing for photos with his motor tuner under the wcics banner as he pulled up into first place! Minnie King was caught in the earlier pile up and pushing hard asking his minions block the leader and help him regain his title and land. Funky Bunch was rapping to the beat and trying to get King Kwong to dance.. King Kwong’s years of ballet experience and was not to be fooled by Funky Bunch's rapping sensation as he pirouetted to the beat! Butterfly was so excited to be in the A main he made himself a little cocoon and crawled inside when he improved his fast lap the night to under 9 seconds! Scat Man took over first place when he punted King Kwong on the charge and didn't wait even as the race director scolded him.. BAD BOY BAD.. BAD BOY. The wheels on the bus go round and round round and round round and round the wheels on the bus go round and round and Wheels finished second last!

Results: Kerry “Scat Man”, Walter “Minnie King”, Ivan “Fat Stacks”, John “King Kwong”, Mark “Funky Bunch”, Dave “Butterfly”, Scott “Wheels”, James “The Mouth”

Touring Mod A Main:

Well, well, well, we found ourselves ready to watch an epic battle in touring mod. The field was stacked with all the big names present and accounted for. Up front we had the formidable Speed followed by the Cheese, Fat Stacks, Maverick, The Mechanic, One Lap, King Kwong and The Flash. The air was electric as we awaited launch time. On the tone, the beasties were released, and hell broke loose. On the second corner everyone was battling and banging with the Cheese getting around Speed. This banging caused total carnage which resulted in an absolute miracle, something of biblical proportions that can not be explained by anything, One Lap was in third. That's right THIRD, no one in attendance could believe what was happening. This miracle did result in one victim, poor old Fast Stacks. He was bounced from third to eighth in one corner, however he was up for the challenge. His massive team provided such a powerful motor that he stripped out a wheel nut and would only be able to limp home in eighth. This heat was amazing, with battles everywhere. One battle that was heating up was between the Flash King Kwong. King Kwong was formidable all night, breaking corner dots, mid race pit stops etc. etc. but The Flash was not intimated. He was ducking and jiving all night until King Kwong delivered the knock out blow and slipped by to take home sixth. The Flash was stellar but settled in for seventh. Maverick, with his wings swept back and afterburners locked in, was battling with the miracle on 34th street, One Lap. This intense battle allowed the cagey Mechanic to sneak up and pass both. We can only assume The Mechanic has developed some new stealth technology, as he was quiet and calculating all night and took third. The One Lap Miracle was having nothing of Maverick’s charge and sent him back to the carrier in fifth and claimed a solid fourth for himself. Up front Speed decided that was enough of allowing The Cheese to have his lead. The Cheese was offering up all the flavours and variety he had but had to concede to Speed and settle for second. Speed rocketed home, waving to all his fans to take a well deserved win.

Results: Tommy "Speed", Sammy "The Cheese", Trevor "The Mechanic", Blaine "One Lap Miracle", Benny "Maverick", John "King Kwong", Gordon "The Flash", and Ivan "Fat Stacks"

Good Morning Everyone,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the help and patience that people have offered at CARCAR this season.
It is great to be back and having fun, we have been a little disorganized but are getting back to good.
I have been trying to get a few more of Ian's friends involved as it is a missed opportunity for so many kids to enjoy the hobby/sport.
Please let me know if possible and there is a couple cars available for two kids to run on Sunday and I will let them know.
As well there is handicap ramp I would like to ask if it is capable of a 400# electric chair to venture down?

Thanks again for all the help.....Chris, Gord, Jim, Sammy, Ian, Colin, James,Ivan and Dwayne you guys are so healthy for the hobby and should be told that your investment in time and energy will go a long way to get kids off the tablets and onto the drivers stand.

Cheers,
Lee

CARCAR Setup Geniuses:

What is the diameter at which you glue Stock TC tires ?

I know some people have acrylic gauges (~56mm ?) but Google turns up nothing.

I glue my tires to 59mm to start, and usually have to go a bit more.

My gauges are for 58.5mm and 59.5mm. If anyone wants to use my wheel tracers don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Guys,
I am just wondering since we are getting to lap times that are worth recording and try improve on our set ups and driving style.......where do we go to get a transponder?
Are they for rent through the club or do we need to shop for one?
Cheers,
Lee
