Hey Guys,

Just heard from Chris that he's going to be coming to town to race this Friday. He's bringing his 12th scale, so if there are others that want to run that class, bring them out!

A warm sunny day with smiles abound, turned into a dark serious night of racing. The usual herd of racers stampeded into the Carcar arena to do battle. Some new old grizzled weathered faces appeared, and you could feel the show down brewing. Before we get to the action we would like to welcome back Shawn and Matt Green. Now let’s get to the action.

Touring Stock B main (By Blaine):

Touring Stock B Main saw The Thriller, Fat Stacks Fabio, Bulb, King Kong, Slow is Fast, Raptor and Wheels all take off at the sound of the tone. Fire was blazing out of the backside of Thrillers vehicle as the challengers failed to catch him. Running his third set of new tires for the night rner Fat Stacks made a mistake in the first corner and dropped from second to last. Bulb was quick to take advantage of the mistake and jumped up and into second, followed closely by King Kong. Slow as fast spent hours reviewing data logging and YouTube videos to try to find the fastest line through the corners without having to pull the throttle. Late in the heat the strategy worked out as he gained one position on a mistake up front! From there the battle for 6 and 7 between Wheels and the newcomer Dash. Wheels and Dash squared up in the middle of the ring as they went toe-to-toe, rope-a-dope with the boards. Blub was driving an amazing car and he was fast… Unfortunately, halfway through the round he remembered that he forgot his medication in his car and needed to go get it.. Like a light switch he turned off his skill, went straight over a corner dot and came crashing down like his dreams of riding a pink unicorn while covered in BBQ sauce.

Results: “Fat Stacks” Ivan, “Thriller” Ken, John “King Kwong”, “Slow is Fast” Gordon, “Dash” Shawn, “Wheels” Scott, Tim “Blub”

Touring Stock A Main (By Blaine):

The A main Gladiators of Trump, Lemon Cakes, Matador, Minnie King, One Lap, and Mr Plow were all cheered on by the crowd as they came to a stop on the starting grid. With the sound of the tone they started circling and looking for prey. The first to show weakness was Lemon Cakes as his attempted at earth shattering cupcakes was thwarted by Trump’s latest executive order. Next Mr. Plow came through the infield and had Minnie King in his sights. A chicane or two later found Minnie King on the sidelines. Up front One Lap was in second place followed by the Matador. The race continue to go smooth until One Lap caught a back marker that ended his challenge for the lead. Matador was waving his cape and moving faster than I wounded bull. All of his practice in the ring was paying off as he claimed his first ever podium position. Mr Plow’s golden bumper and tactical playbook were used perfectly throughout the race and earned him 3rd.

Results: “Trump” Kerry, “Matador” James, “Mr Plow” Trevor, “One Lap” Blaine, “Minnie King” Walter”, “Lemon Cakes” Josh

12th Scale A main:

Strange things were a foot at the Carcar track last night. An extinct species of race car had appeared. Gone like the DoDo bird, or we thought, was the 12th scale. It was refreshing to see the 12th scale out of hiding from its biggest predator, man and on the track. At the start of the night we had a full heat of the elusive creatures. With all the world leaders in secret meetings disusing the predicament that has transpired with the near extinct 12th scale and its world-wide foam crisis we settled for five in the main. Up front we had Speed, followed by Mr. DNF, Maverick, The Green Goblin, and Mr. Plow. On the tone, the start was clean. Speed rocketed off hot pursued by Mr. DNF and Maverick. All cars were running on plastic as the tires strained to maintain the pace they were setting. A few laps under their belts the Green Goblin and Mr. Plow were locked in a tight battle. The Goblin was running smooth consistent lines putting down awesome lap times, when Mr. Plow, like a bull in china shop, decided enough of the Marvel superhero crap and drove the Goblin clean off the track, and he was out. Mr. Plow was a man processed but had nothing for the three mod cars at the front, as they lapped him over and over and over and over. In the end with technical problems befallen him, he too was out. Up front Speed created an insurmountable lead even with the uncharacteristic bobbles here and there he cruised to victory. The real battle was with Mr. DNF and the Maverick. They were trading paint, positions and who knows what else. Maverick’s car, near the end of the run, developed some odd handling characteristic and was traction rolling. He was in luck as his two personal marshals, One Lap, and Minnie King followed him around flipping him back over. This bad luck allowed Mr. DNF the ability to bring his foamless car home a solid second. As fast they came the elusive 12th scales were gone back into hiding.

Results: Tommy “Speed”, Cal “Mr. DNF”, Benny “Maverick”, Trevor “Mr. Plow” and Matt “Green Goblin”

Touring Mod B Main:

With the motors powerful, the ESCs on kill, egos brewing with confidence it can only mean it is mod time. The line up was solid with Lemon Cakes up front with Hobby Shop, the Maverick and King Kwong rounding out the field. On a side note One Lap Johnny Cash was a no start due to his live performance of his killer hit, Burning Ring of Fire in his Quali. One Lap was so fast he caught fire and burnt his car to the ground a truly sad day. Now back to the action. On the tone the cars all squatted, struggled for grip and boosted off into battle. Up front we had Hobby Shop challenging Lemon Cakes. Lemon Cakes was calm cool and collect like a yoga Swami teaching a class. Hobby Shop was having nothing of the downward facing dog and pressured him throughout the race until Lemon Cakes made a slight error allowing Hobby Shop through. Hobby Shop promptly pulled a muscle from the lack of limbering up allowing the snickering Lemon Cakes through to take the win. Hobby Shop’s lack of mental fitness caused further incidents, but he was able to gather it up and come home second. A little further back the Maverick and King Kwong were battling for supremacy. King Kwong would take swipes at Maverick on several occasions, but to no avail. Maverick felt the need for speed and kick in the after burner and pulled out a bit of lead. The mystical King Kwong had one last card to play before returning to his lair. The death card was dealt allowing Maverick bugged out and take third. King Kwong would live to fight another day and came home fourth.

Results: Josh " Lemon Cakes ", Erwin "Hobby Shop", Benny "Maverick", John "King Kwong"

Touring Mod A Main:

Launch time was eminent, cars were set, drivers were salivating at the chance to set off. All the fast guys were present and accounted for, as was Cal. Up front we had the Professor followed by Fat Stacks, The Beard, Mr. DNF and Speed. On the tone the Professor was set to put on a clinic however, he was to be pursued by Fat Stacks and The Beard. The Beard rejected the ridiculous settlement offered to him by Fat Stacks and his team of Lawyers and drove off like Fat Stacks was tied to a stump. The Beard was on full boogaloo and reeling in the Professor, in the hopes of discussing the failing grade he was presented. Fat stacks was in toe waving his bills at The Beard to bribe him to let him by. The Beard made a slight error tearing his wing off, coincidence? Conspiracy theorist would say no, but none the less, even out of contention, he put on a valiant drive. Fat stacks was over joyed to save a few bills, not having to buy his result, and swooped in for a stellar second place finish. Speed after suffering a poor Quali was possessed to move up however, Mr. DNF blew him off like lint from a touring car chassis. Speed, showing extreme patients, waited for Mr. DNF to make a mistake and then pounced. Speed was though and set after Fat Stacks who was quite far down the road, but Speed was up for the challenge. Mr. DNF stuck to Speed like a cheap suit. Their serious challenge was for not as time ran out and they came home third and forth respectively.

Results: Jim "professor", Ivan "Fat Stacks", Tommy "Speed", Cal "Mr. DNF", Matt "The Beard"

Default Small mis interpretation

As it clearly states in the write up that you have kindly linked us to.

LRP is closing. Not AE and reedy

Team associated and reedy will be continuing to operate, but under a new distributer for their brands

I personally don't believe that one of the oldest and most successful RC brands such as Team Associated or reedy will EVER shut down.

Not trying to burst your bubble here but AE and Reedy are alive and thriving.

I don't see Thunder Tiger (the Taiwanese company who owns the AE brand) stopping the product line anytime soon. With that said, Thunder Tiger can do whatever they want with the brand.

I didn't say AE & reedy were closing, but if LRP was making the AE & Reedy electronics then there might be an issue in the short term......
I know they split ways, but you never know who's making what or where there hands reach.

Well my LRP sponsorship has now just gone up in flames like my ESC and motor on friday night!!!

Oh wait.. I'm not sponsored.

Fabio if you want to talk sponsorship's, I'm open to the idea. You can find The Stallion, Maverick, Speed, Cheese, El Matador and other's all at Eden while at the Edmonton ats in March. They will be happy to sign contracts over a few bottles of vodka.

It affects racers.
If you run an lrp esc or motor and you want warranty you can’t get it after the end of march maybe not even now.

Hmm interesting, Great Hobbies also sent an email recently that announced another company is closing its doors as they were having problems getting product. I can't remember the name off hand, but I think it was on the plane side.

I think that was Hobbico. Hobbico formed when Horizon and Great Planes merged. Not good.
