Burns me not being able to get down and race... the RM is gathering a layer of unwanted dust... aiming to finally get there for round 5 but round 6 is more likely due to commitments etc

It was a good turn out and Trackside do a great job at making it a run smoothly and even have time for a feed what more could we wish for.

Ok Jason the secret that you have been pestering me about is to eat at least 3 hot dogs seemed to work for me

Tricky,

I'm after the secret of how to make these cars handle fast and consistent, not how to fumigate your room after a nights racing.

Twas a good night, (for me, not my son). Not that he minded, it just gave him more time to play with the other kids.

This thread seems to have gone quiet. What's happening in SEQ regarding 1/12th? I'm looking to get back into cars after a 12 year absence, and 1/12th is where I started a long time ago...

I went to Xray Raceway last week and it was good to see the cars there and have a chat to Jeff about things. But I am a bitumen man at heart, so are any other tracks running 1/12th this year? I'd be keen to mix it up with some carpet at Xray and bitumen elsewhere.

Unfortunately there is no Outdoor (Bitumen) 1/12 racing lately.

They did try at Sunshine Coast (Landsborough) a while back. That was when Graham blew down and Sugared the track before each race meet. The surface is in bad need of resurfacing there though.

Logan has just resurfaced their track. First meet last Saturday. Great new layout, (and great new surface), would probably suit 1/12 scale on a shortened track, but doubtful as to whether it would happen. (Most clubs have the policy of 'If enough of a class turn up to race, we will run that class'). You'd have to ask the current committee what their present policy is.

EPR (Brendale) is having their track resurfaced next month, with a few slight alterations. 1/12 Scale may be an option there too after the resurface. Again check with the current committee.

They tried it at Bayside, but with the track surface and with half the corners being tight 180 turns it didn't really suit 1/12 scale. (TC on Rubbers go well there though).

There were around 35-40 1/12 cars out there, just needs somewhere decent to race and support from the 1/12 owners.

Thanks El Nitro, I'll keep sniffing about and see what happens. I'm not against getting an electric touring car to run at EPR, but I prefer pan cars.

For anyone looking for a tarmac race, I thoroughly recommend NSW vs Qld at Tamworth in April. Of all the Tarmac tracks I've raced 12th on (around 10 of them), Tamworth is by far my favourite. The layout is easy to get around, but challenges you to make a fast lap time on every circuit.

They're running 10.5 12th scale at that meeting. There was a good NSW/Qld split last year. Link is here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/australi...5th-april.html

If you happen to be southerly enough, then there's no reason why you couldn't organise a few mates to go down and run 12th on club days too, they'd be happy to have you.

Time to revive an old thread! I've been racing a bit lately at Xray Raceway and having a great time. The guys are friendly and it's all pretty casual. I just need to get my old brain used to 9 second lap times!

In other news, England Park is holding an all scales weekend this weekend to celebrate the opening of the overhauled track. It looks great and is an achievement to all involved. Saturday looks like being large scale and nitro, with Sunday mostly electric...including 1/12th!

So if you're keen to run a 1/12th on an awesome outdoor track, or just keen for a look, come on down this Sunday. More info in the England Park thread, or their Facebook page.

It will be interesting to see how the 1/12 go on the new EPR track. It will certainly be smooth enough (and wide enough).
Hope to give it a go (and my son is very keen to run 1/12 there), but with SSF and Stock on the same day we will have to wait for another day.

Hope you get a good turnout of 1/12 though. Figure out what setup works best for the track.

You could make the longest 1/12 track 'out there' using some out the cut-outs at EPR.

See you there.
