Kyosho Optima. The original chain driven version, red alloy shocks, motor in the rear with the big spiked tyres. Loved it to death. Drove it till the bitter end.
Bought it from Champion Model Cars too.

First EP offroad Tamiya Cheatah, same place 79.

First GP onroad, PB alpha I.S 1/8, hobby place 82.

Mine was a Tamiya Astute late 1990. Ended up with long Losi shocks all round with home made towers, home made saddle pack conversion, homemade Yokomo wheel adaptors, and a Xenon ESC which I soldered up myself when I was 14. Awesome Raced it in WA throughout '91, not too far from the pointy end despite a 1750g weight!!

Following that I got a Cougar 2 Team in 1992 which I drove at the Vintage Enduro at Keilor last weekend (first time it has run since 1993).

Ive just realised it was over 20 years ago I got my first RC car

Yeah I remember back when Kellet's were in the old location in Liverpool too.

My first was Kyosho Optima, then Schumacher CAT XL, Kyosho Turbo Ultima then finished up with a Kyosho Triumph. Those were the days!

Tamiya striker.Im guessing about 1988.Started racing at the old shepparton club with it.Shared it with my brother till it broke in half.We then had half each until I got a tamiya fox and my brother got a top cat.
