My first car was a Tamiya Fox, bought approx 1987. I remember a mate getting bought one as a gift, and I thought it was the greatest thing ever. There was no way I could afford one under normal circumstances, but then the most bizzare thing happened...the local Franklins supermarket got 3 Fox package deals in @ $160 for each complete package. I couldn't believe my luck as I'd saved exactly that amount from my paper round and snapped 1 up straight away.

My mate (with the Fox) was nearly as excited as I was when he heard the news. Great car in it's day...gave it hell and never broke a thing. I'll build up my NIB Fox one of these days!

My uncle gave me his Tamiya Hornet back in 1993-94, when I started racing it was a team edition T3.

Default vintage

My first RC was a LaTrax Corvette, red one, EARLY 80's...I even made a pretty cool racetrack in my driveway using garden hoses to layout the track, drove the wheels off that thing for a couple of summers. As a matter of fact, I still have the wheels and "suspension" from both the front and back of that car, just no chassis...?? Then I heard about this weird thing called "off-road" and this oddly named company called Tamiya...First up was a Subaru Brat for Christmas when i was 14 or 15 ...LOVED that thing and drove it like I stole it too. It is no longer with me. Im not even sure what I did with it..?? Then came a Futaba FX-10, I wasnt too impressed, so I got a Tamiya King Cab when it was released in 89-90...I was in love and totally hooked after that, I raced it, won and or placed in some local races, it was black with aluminum Sees wheels on it. I sold it a year later.. moved to Austin, TX and bought a Futaba FXT. I was actually incredibly impressed with the quality of that truck, I think I sold it too...?? Looking for one of those if anyone has one , let me know.

Here is my first King Cab in 30 years or so, just finished...I'm in love all over again...

Default Metro Bullet

Mine was a Metro Bullet. I bought it myself with a loan from my mate.
I really liked that car and traded it for something I cant remember.
I would love to find one again.
Then I got a Mugen Bulldog in about 1988.
Never raced anything until last year though.

My first was a Wild Willy. Then for my 7th birthday I got a 12th scale.

I would have to say the best I owned was a Dogfighter YZ10 870c. If only I could find the guy that brought that back in '92.

Tamiya Cheetah (looks a bit like a hummer).

Plastic replica body, 6V hardcase battery, awesome scale tyres and a set of charge leads that smoked when you left the battery on for 45min.......

would have to have been produced in early 80's. I reckon 81 or 82

Default First RC Vehicle

1984 Tamiya Californian Buggy and Frog with 3 personalities (Frog, Willies Jeep and Big foot) just change the body & wheels for a different look and class.
I still have most of the manuals from my past vehicles which include Samari, Striker, Supershot & Hotshot, Yokomo dogfighters, Associated RC10's, Kyosho's and Team Losi's from original XX & XXXNT to Losi 8 & 8T 2.0.

but actually it was a Tamiya Hornet bought for $149 complete with a charger, controller, battery in 1986. Took me about 4 months to buy with my paper boy money. Would have been sooner but I had a bad "TERA CRESTA" addiction.
