If a distributor wants to get a motor made official all they would have to do is have someone run it at club and local meetings, once it proves that it does not blow up, and has decent performance and is a reasonable price, then that importer would submit a proposal to the club and then to ARCMACCA's and it would be voted on by the members.

We are in infant territory people, just because people like nontact can spray out a list of BL websites, does not mean they are suitable for our application.
im not against an approved list and currently run ""a approved
brushless"" as such
but dont see why it should be limited to two brands at such an early stage and totally push the others to the side effectivly giving
them no chance.
this is why it needs to go on specs of the motor not personal
likes.
this is how other motors are approved why not brushless.

Just a little bit of info here, the motor lists that AARCMCC uses are from IFMAR (for mod) and ROAR (for stock).
The motors on the lists have to satisfy certain criteria prior to inspecton by these bodies, they then get stripped and get the going over with a fine tooth comb to make sure these motors meet the requirements.
One problem i do have with some of the brushless motors, is that what specs are on the brochure may differ to what the motor may measure too. So the policy of approved motors is sound in that respect.
Contact did have another part in his amendment for approval of BL motors, to allow over sized BL motors to be run when approved. This has been dropped as otherwise we may as well not have any rules.
I too am concerned about the speed controls, and believe that the motors and speed controllers should be approved as a unit.

Guys we are testing new waters here, lets take it 1 step at a time

One point that is pretty stupid there is that magnets need re-zapping although this may be true, although so will brushed motors, probably earlier, they both use magnets. In fact brushless motors use higher quality magnets so you will get more life out of them.

Coxy and myself have been racing with Hacker systems for 10 months now, and people like oldfart have been running the Novak SS for a while, but you are right, i find it amazing that some of the most vocal people are the ones with zero practical experience with them.

Yea your CRC is coming but not here yet.

Yes Bradd I did get the extra's with it. I just need to get a longer USB cable, it's a little short the one that comes with it but it's going to be awsome.
