Just run it nice and hot and it should stay like that for the next 50 to 60 litres

GO .28 Savage rotostart

G,day Mark, I don't know if you have spoken to Darren at RCHZ but I have just fitted the .28 with the twin rotostart backplate into my Savage X. a bit of tinkering is required to make it fit but it will definately be worth it. Had 5 tanks through it now and should be fully run in by this weekend for racing at Morphetvale.

Cool ! any pics of the mods needed to fit ?

MM question for ya...

i've been tossing up between the 5pt and 7pt and the more i read into it the more i get confused as to which way i should go.

Bottom line i guess i keep coming down to the 7pt.

basically speaking, our track only has a few tight turns, has more long stretches than short, but it's mostly an open track...

the current setup i'm running is a Max Power M5B engine with a 2017 pipe. this pipe is a bottom to mid range pipe.

My conclusion in all this is with my current pipe and the 5pt i would have too much bottom end torque and would either wheel spin too much or not get the top end i need.

But. the 7pt being a smoother engine that have a slightly higher top end would be tamed down to the point where i get good bottom end accelleration without excessive wheel spin, but still have a good top end power.

Does this sound accurate to you. and should i go with the 7pt over the 5pt with our track and my pipe.

sorry for the long post. i just need an answer so i can sleep at nights :P

Yes Sounds to me like the 7 Port is the way to go for your application. You can tune them up and down to suit , being a higher revving engine you can gear it down for shorter tracks or tune the clutch for smoother or aggressive take off.. The 7 Port has a smoother bottom end that the 5 Port .

Hope you sleep well lol

Cheers MM
