thanks guys, i think i'm just going to remove that rod connecting the pullstart and just cut up the pullstart, no point in spending more money on this motor

You will need to plug the hole the one way bearing shaft leaves or you will draw air in through there.
The backplate kit should only be around $25 - $30 tops I would think in $AUS

kai888 - you will need the following parts for the backplate conversion on your .21 Sport motor:

Rear cover for .21, .25, .28 RTR - Part # 28-1000
O Ring AS-018 - Part # OR-0027
Screw 2.6 x 6 (4 pce) - Part # S6-2606

You will need the screws as the pull start screws will be too long in the thread for the backplate.

Cheers

I assume the rear cover is like a MG66 cover , same part number ?

Na she's different Flanno. MG is Part# 21-1005-M2

These are alloy coloured, not black.
Biggest difference is they have a groove cut in the inner face that makes room for the little pin on the end of the actual crank pin (that fits into the pullstart shaft) to pass through the back plate as the crank spins.
I am guessing a normal GX backplate might fit if you ground the pull start pin off the crank, but probably easier to get the proper back plate ?

That's funny. I heard he was going international and shifting trans-tasman to Auckland :D
Somewhere in a suburb called Titirangi. Sounded like it might have been next door to me !!

Flanno 09-27-2010 05:05 PM

Not likely Grizz, he'd never get any work done as you'd be next door bending his ear all day

:ha: Too right. He can only come and set up next door if he brings the Massive Mods models with him  :D

Our 3 day Nationals are starting on Friday. Brand new track that nobody has had a buggy on. Should be a good weekend
