I would like to send a massive thank you to Mark at Massive Mods for all his help and support in helping me to come 3rd in the Penrith district nitro on road buggy championship,I have put in some photos(hopefully)of my buggy with the new mg66,but the buggy won the championship with a mm5 5 port, Was the fastest thing there, but I had trouble with setup. This ran over 13 rounds and points tallied over championship.
Thanks Mark, your the man
Jamie

Hey, well done Jamie

Nice looking ride mate. Those street bashing tyres look like they have a bit of wear on them :sneaky: Been doing a bit of roadside tuning eh :D
Go the trusty Stage 5 5 Port - now superceded by the MG66, but still one hell of a motor

At least i have a few possible causes now, will give the engine the once over when i clean up the car.

Thanks for the help. MM can you PM me your email address, my desktop is out of action atm, and ur email is on there. Cheers.

the filter would have worked like a strainer , but some water would have sucked in .. best bet is to give it a good flush and rebuild , inspect there is no scoring on the piston and that alls ok inside ..

Hi Grizz
I have to say a big thank you too all you guys on the forum that continually help everyone out, you guys have helped me to get the motor running right, and the tires are that way because I came 3rd in a onroad championship, those tires have seen 26 x 5 min races and a 10min final. And they still look alright.
Thanks dude
Jamie

On-Road buggy racing - YAHOO. That must be so cool :p. Cable tie the shocks down to the arms and let her rip :D (probably not allowed I would imagine  ).
Man those tyres are awesome if they look that good after the punishment thev'e had.
I gave some off road tyres a hard time around the car park when I was tuning my MM5 after break in a while ago, and they were completely destroyed in a tank  They didn't like it at all.

Hi Mr Massive :) Who's a busy boy then ??? Great to see the 66's selling so well for you bro. You are DA MAN.

Hmm, yes it's all very tempting.
My MM5 5 Port is such a sweet motor - but I tend to keep it for bigger events. I would like to run it all the time as my club motor, and get another hard out MMods motor for special occasions. Now that the 66's are out there, what to get is a bit of a no brainer really
I have decided recently that off-road is my thing (as opposed to on-road), and is what I want to concentrate on full time.
This means I need to loose an on-road toy or two, and free up some RC funds. Then it will be Answer Ceramics for the MM5 Port, and my name will probably go on the list for one of the next batch of 66's that become available.
See boys, I told you I wouldn't be able to hold out for very long :sneaky: :D

HAY GRIZZ GOOD TO HEAR MATE I HAVE JUST BEEN FLAT OUT WITH OFF ROAD IM THINKING OF DROPPING ONE OF THE OFF ROAD AND JUST CONCENTRATE ON THE ONE CLASS RUNNING 2 CARS AT A EVENT IS A PAIN IN THE A$$ IM I HAVE BEEN RUNNING BUGGY FOR A LONG TIME AND IM THINKING OF JUST STAYING WITH TRUGGY NOW DAYS , ALOT MORE FUN TO DRIVE IMO :D I CERTAINLY WONT BE GETTING ANY MORE MOTORS AS I HAVE 4 NOW IM THINKING THATS ENOUGH:nod:

grizz1 08-20-2009 12:58 AM

Yeah, running two classes is a pain. I tried it for a few months when I started racing seriously. Just not enough time between heats on club days to run your cars properly. Do one, and do it right

He he - Yes, I am a salesman's dream customer I'm afraid. I just can't help myself when it comes to really nicely engineered stuff, even if I don't really need it. It's a disease you know  and these 1/8 buggies and micro engines are sooooo cool :)
Plus as you get a bit older you realise we are here for a good time, not a long time - so just do it ;)

Mauve 08-20-2009 11:58 PM

You think your a salespersons dream customer Grizz... In the last week,
Motorbike... tick
DX3S... tick
Losi 8ight-T 2.0... tick
and then there was the question of power plant, MG66 and 2072... tick :batman:
My poor old bank account now has much less financial strength, my ability in self control is made of fail. Oh well, at least I'll have a lot of fun.

grizz1 08-21-2009 01:09 AM

Yeah - that's what I'm talking about :D Love your work

MassiveMods 08-21-2009 08:45 PM

Ata boy Shane :) i knew you would come around .. when i saw you post that you wont be getting one i chuckled under my breath .. Im really keen to hear how you like it !
