MG66

I've been heard that MasiveMods have some order from Poland. A few days ago I said my friend about MM engines and give him some links to read this forum and MM site. It will be good chance to see your engine in action.

p.s. my gx-5r is in great condition after first galon, it has great bottom... and no (zero) clearance (if I'm using good right word) on the condrod. I'm another converted to 'break-in on the track' method

:D

thanks Guys!

MassiveMods 04-14-2010 06:08 AM

The On track method is the best way to run in an engine. :D

Mark or Grizz, any one who knows. with the mg-66 as it wears in ,do you need to keep leaning the lsn? I am in 2-1/2 turns maybe slightly more. Still running with great smoke trail but power seems rich. when i do the pinch test i get about 5 second delay before cut out. Do I need to reshim? I have .5mm plus the 3 built in for 8 total running 30% nitro. The engine runs great with either an os-p3,or a p4. mileage is about the same. the only time it dropped off is when I tried 25% nitro. with 25% I had to fatten up and my run times went from the 13;30's too 9:00 min per tank. I think the run time with the 25% would go way up if I re-shimmed. I know my tune is close but don't want to go lean. The temp is still arouund 200-210 range. I don't tune to temp but use it as a reference.

Is the engien rich in take off or up top when you get past half throttle ? if its up top lean the HSN 1 hour . See how that goes :)

bigmatt 04-22-2010 03:55 PM

okay mark,I went out and played with it today. I think I had a lean lsn masked by a high idle setting. The engine wanted to keep reving like it was to rich. When I stopped rev high then went to normal. so I first got up to temp then lowered idle, pinch test, richer on the lsn, then a hair leaner on the hsn. more power from start to finish. sound right to you?

sounds right if you got a good result ! is it running consistantly ?

BTW sneak peek of the Godzilla ... testing our latest engine :D

Hi, I have been thinking of getting a GO motor, the only thing i'm a little suss on, is the ones i have seen go, go very well, but when they stop, seem to have alot of trouble starting again. I was just wondering it was just owner set-up or they just get a bit tempremental on a warm start up ?

I'd say owner set up.hot-cold mine fire up every time. only issue I have run into is air leaks, but that is with any engine. could be a number of things that cause flame out tho.

You may have been witnessing the gen 4 RTR range, they have an all alloy carb which did have its draw backs during a hot start. But the new range has a composite carb much like the pro series so its eliminated the problem.

Which one were you looking at ?
