Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Hi,
After discussion with the Ryde team, some changes to the dates for the Sat night series is necessary due to last Saturday's wash out.

New dates and venues will be:

St Ives 4th March (2nd round re-run)
Ryde 18th March (3rd round)
St Ives 25th March (last round)

Anyone who entered and paid last Saturday will be eligible for credit at one of the 2 St Ives rounds still to be run.

Cheers,
Thommo

Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Entries for this Saturday's (4th March) St Ives round of the NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series (re-run of washed out 18th Feb event) are open.
We have cleared all entries from the 18th Feb to ensure we know who will be attending.

Go to the St Ives RC club website.

People who entered and paid on the 18th will receive a credit. (For this coming Saturday or for the final round at St Ives - presently planned for the 25th March).

We are aware of the dismal weather forecast expected for this coming Saturday (and days preceding) but need to plan (optimistically) as though the weather may improve.

A final decision will be made towards end of the week.

Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Hi all,
You can probably guess the decision that we have had to make.

No racing at St Ives this weekend.

Things are too wet.

We will discuss with the Sydney RC (Ryde) committee options for running round 2 of the NBHC/ RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series.
We are committed to try to get the 4 rounds done in the coming weeks but need to work around other events and clubs plans.

18th March is likely date to pencil in. Just need to confirm it will be at St Ives.

Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Hi all,

Hoping to try to hold the 2nd round of the NBHC/ RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series, at St Ives this coming Saturday (18th March).

Entries online at www.stivesrc .com

Racing to start around 3pm. Payments for entries will be taken from 2.15pm.
People who paid at the washed out round on 18th Feb will be able to claim credit.

Predicted weather this week is poor but hopefully will clear late in the week. We will watch this situation.

Present plans for other rounds for the NHBC/ RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series will be

Saturday 18th March - St Ives (round 2)
Saturday 25th March - Ryde (round 3)

Saturday or Sunday 15/16th April - St Ives (final round)

But this may change due to weather.

Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Hi all,

Having inspected the track this morning we would be OK to go if the weather would give us a few hours of sunshine and a dry day tomorrow. But forecast is 95% chance of showers with 20-50mm of precipitation predicted. So that doesn't sound like a fun day out and so we will have to postpone the St Ives round of the NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series.

Will have to re-consider options for rounds 2,3 & 4.

Realised that mid April will be Easter long weekend so probably not a great option.

Will discuss with Ryde committee plans

Default NBHC / RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series

Re the NBHC/ RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series. After discussion with the Ryde crew, it has been decided that we will place the Sat Night Series on hold till some time in April.
Who would have thought that out of 8 possible Sat nights in Feb & Mar we would get only 1 race night.
Forecast for this Saturday is also not good so if things do clear up, it will be a normal Ryde Sunday club day.
Then on April 2nd we have the 1st round of the Club Series event at Castlehill. We then need to decide when we might try to resume the Sat Night series with Easter falling mid April. I need to determine when the various Race Directors might be available.
Thanks for everyone support and understanding with all the delays. We just couldn't beat the weather (so far).

Default Membership

Reminder to those who might run at Castlehill on Sunday the 2nd April in the Club Series.
People need to be financial members of the club you are entering under.

The 2017 membership at St Ives in only $15 for an adult, $10 for a child.

I know that opportunities to attend a race day at St Ives and hence complete membership payment have been very limited so I will have forms available on the 2nd April for those who need to join up.

Cheers, Thommo

Default Racing at St Ives update

Just wanting to update members and guests re planned events for April.

1st Sunday would normally be club race day but it clashes with 1st round of Club Series at Castlehill. Many club members will hopefully be at Casso so no racing planned at St Ives.

3rd Sunday in April is Easter weekend. Committee still to decide if will plan for a race day.

5th weekend will be a good option for a race day. Committee still to decide if will try for a Sat night as part of the NBHC/ RC Hobbyland Sat Night Series, or just run a normal club day on the Sunday.

30th April was to be our Vintage race event but weather has required us to set a new date (still TBC) as there is a lot of races coming up including the washed out Feb Castlehill Vintage Enduro (now rescheduled for 9th April).

Hopefully weather will improve and we can get some racing underway.
We will also need to do some track work as there has been some damage to the race surface with all this rain. Working bee date to be announced shortly.

Cheers.

Default Racing at St Ives

Just a reminder to all that there will be no racing at St Ives this Sunday. Yes it is the 1st Sunday of the month and it even looks like it might be dry and a great day for racing. But the club is competing at the 1st round of the 2017 NSW Club Series at Castlehill RC Car Club.

Looking at possible casual race over Easter weekend but need to do some track work before we really put on an event, even a club day.

Will keep you all posted as we set out calendar for coming weeks. A few things have come up to cause some further juggling.

Cheers, Thommo

Default Easter Monday racing

Track work went well. Thanks to Norman, Jack, Susie & Bryce for helping out. Stand is nice and strong now and track should be excellent.

Looking at getting BBQ fired up on Monday as well so please get entries in online so we have some idea of likely numbers. Top of the entry page says Sat Night Series, Please ignore as entries are for Easter Monday. I need to get Thomas to change the top of the page. ta, Thommo
