Had some questions re tomorrow's Vintage event at St Ives.
The basic info is below. No modern 2wd/ 4wd 17.5/13.5/Mod racing. The only class to race modern buggies is in 540 Sportsman where modern buggies can run with 540 silver can motors. Many members and regulars at St Ives are familar with this class and we wanted to include this option.
Modern SCT's can run in SCT class.
Other classes are pre 2010 buggies (2wd & 4wd) and reproduction buggies (Ultima, Cougar, Top Force etc.)
See below.

Date - 16/12/23
Time - Rego 1pm (please bring cash, no eftpos)
Racing 2pm until 9pm
Cost - First class $10, second class $5
Where - St Ives Showground, Mona Vale rd.
Format
- 540 2wd/4wd, Vintage, Classic & Outlaw Combined (If we get enough people we will split it into 2wd and 4wd)
- 21.5 2wd/4wd Vintage, Classic & Outlaw Combined. (If we get enough people we will split it into 2wd and 4wd
- Truck 21.5, Vintage, Classic & Outlaw Combined. Inc Blitzer trucks
- Short Course Truck
- Sportsman 540 (this will be everything that doesn't fit into the above categories including modern buggies. )
Limit of two classes per entrant.
Class guidelines regarding buggy and truck eligibility, follow the Festival guidelines and can be found in the files section of the St ives RCCC Chat page. Alternatively, don't hesitate to message us and we can help.

Hope everyone had a nice Xmas and New Year. St Ives is looking to have the first club day on the 28th Jan.
Will see if we make this the AGM as well or we hold off until the 2nd Sunday on Feb (traditionally the AGM meet).

First Club Race day for 2024 at SIRCCC tomorrow (Sunday 28th). Usual program of rego at 9am and try to get racing by 9.30am. First class is $10, second class is $5. Limit of 2 classes as we need to avoid too many people racing back to back so we have plenty of marshals for each race (you race, you marshal).
Please bring cash if you can or we can direct you to the club payment account.

Happy to also take club memberships for 2024. $15. Memberships and race fees help the club to cover the key expenses for each season (Insurance and rego with RCRA, council rates/ hire of venue, race computer program licence). Plus this year we are looking to replace a lot of the carpet where it is really starting to suffer and if we can, we will look to alter the layout and even the length of the track.

Hopefully the proposed "late shower" for Sunday is exactly that and we can get a good days racing done and be sitting at home looking forward to the next meet before any wet weather.

Cheers, Thommo

This coming Sunday (weather allowing) will be St Ives RC Car Club race day. We will also be having our AGM to select 2024 club committee. If interested in helping out with the clubs organisation, please put your hand up for a committee position.
To fit in the AGM and to still get some racing in we are looking to do AGM at 8.30am and then to get entries taken at 9am and get racing by 9.30am.
Entries will be $10 first class, $5 for a second class.

James has been to the track and reports that while currently a bit slippery, things should be good for tomorrow if no further r#*@.
Grip may be low until things warm up (sun is out at the moment in Thornleigh so can only hope it is the same in St Ives) but you bring some Holeshots for the morning if concerned.
Forecast for tomorrow is no rain and some sunny patches and 25 degree so should be good. Reminder club AGM at 8.30am so track will be closed 8.30 to 9am. Entries from 9am (if we get through the AGM quick) and get racing by 9.30am.

While there has been a bit of drizzle at St Ives during the day there appears to have been no heavy rain. Temps tomorrow are much warmer than today so the track should come good but it will likely start out a bit slippery like last meeting did. So, bring the dirt style rubber pin tyres for early on (Holeshots etc) and by late morning things should hopefully dried up nicely.
Hope to see you there. Taking entries by 9am and get racing around 9.30am

Race day Sunday 24 March.
9am rego. 9.30am try to get racing.
Should be dry although morning dew seems common at the moment so dirt style pins for first round may be necessary.
Still taking memberships if anyone still to sign up. Just helps the club to cover some of the bills (new carpet a big one to come) and gives you the necessary membership to RCRA to participate in State and National Titles if planning.

St Ives Winter-duros
Hey everyone, we’ve organised a mid-year Vintage enduro meeting at the St Ives club on Sunday the 30th of June featuring 2 x 3 hour enduros. A few formats have been thrown around as options but we decided simplicity is key so both enduros will be run like the entry level enduro with no buggy points, no minimum driver times, bring as many buggies as you like etc. Just pick your buggy/truck and the right motor and go for it.
The enduros will be:
1. Vintage TT enduro Vintage/Classic buggies/trucks (1999 Cutoff) – Same buggies we ran a few weeks ago (buggy list attached). Motors- Torque tuned motor for all buggies / trucks (can use Johnson 540) and Blitzers may use Sport Tuned
2. Outlaw 21.5 Enduro: All outlaw eligible (and vintage and Classic) buggies / trucks. For this race we are allowing any rear motor truck or 2wd (no cutoff date) and 4wds will still be cut off at 2010. A list of eligible buggies has been put together (attached) but we’re sure there’s more gems out there that need to be added so if you have a rear motor buggy / truck or a 4wd up to 2010 that isn’t on our list, please get in touch. Motors - ROAR legal 21.5 motors (including fixed timing) and blinky esc – Can also use 27T brushed stock motors etc, please refer to the guidelines for full list of eligible motors
Maximum 10 teams for each enduro due to the size of the drivers stand. There is a genuine potential to end up being oversubscribed for the race. With that in mind, here’s a snapshot of the entry procedure. Entries only accepted by messaging me (Castle Hill Vintage), replies to the posts won’t be taken as an entry, I can’t keep track of it all.
We’ll have the initial entry period open for 2 weeks so on the 19th we’ll close off the initial entry window and start sorting it out.
When the team captain sends through the team, please indicate which is your preferred enduro to run in (we’ll aim to give each team it’s first preference) and include the list of buggies your team will be running. Talking with the guys we might give preference for the Outlaw enduro to the teams with the most “outlaw-ness” in the line up i.e. most of the buggies are from 2000 and onwards and extra consideration given for teams with anything in the line up that’s from a less popular brand, the idea being that we want this race to be a showcase for the Outlaw era buggies.
For the Vintage TT enduro we’ll take the teams preferred race into account as well as making sure we’ve got space for some St Ives teams to join in the fun now it’s at their home track and not clashing with their club day and see how we end up.
We’ll have a waiting list set up in case a team drops out
Standard enduro rules will apply such as 6000mah battery limits and pit stops. Please see the full guidelines attached.
Cheers Mikey and the Greater Sydney Vintage rc team

St Ives Club race day this Sunday the 14th April. Will look to get rego's open at 9am and try to get racing by 9.30am. $10 first class. $5 second class. Bring cash if you can.
In lead up to the Winter Vintage & Outlaw enduro's at end of June, we can look to allow people to run Torque Tuned and 21.5 Vintage and Outlaw buggies in with our 540 class. Will separate TT & 21.5 from 540 motored cars if numbers allow.
Also will be the usual 2wd (17.5 and mod if numbers allow), 4wd buggies, SCT and Truggy (all subject to getting enough to run a class).

Racing this Sunday @ SIRCCC. Will look to take registrations at 9am. Get racing by 9.30am. $10 first class, $5 a second class. Cash is helpful. Usual classes. Can run 540 runners (any buggy with 540 silver can motor) with Vintage 540, or Vintage can run with Torque Tuned or Outlaw with 21.5 to allow people to prep for the Vintage Enduro meet. Will just depend on entry numbers. 2wd buggies (17.5 and open if enough numbers, 4wd buggy, Truggy, SCT etc.
