Hey, we had a great day at on-road today. One highlight was a speed test!!
My brushless FT TC4 was clocked at 90.9 kmh!!!
GTB 4.5 with 4200's. I can get it faster but didn't have time to gear up more.

Yesterday was a great day of racing....
It was pretty hot and incredibly windy, the new track layout seemed to be very well received, I found it really challenging and enjoyable with high average speeds. The lap times were close to breaking into the 16 sec barrier which is pretty good for such a long track.
The top speed test was great, the Two electrics took the honours, both amazingly setting the exact same speed of a nudge over 90 kph.
The fastest Nitro was off the pace at 77kph but this was because we weren't initially using enough runup, it was definitley still accelerating through the trap.
Just to prove the wind is an issue, even that low, speed were down almost 10 kph running into the wind.
November will see the next speed test, I'm hoping that people see it's worth and we have a few more people giving it a go.
Look out for the 18 cvr powered GT1 HPI Super Nitro, it will be looking to join the electric guys at 90 kph club, but can anyone break 100 kph?
A reminder too that the next round, clashing with Bathurst, will not be held due to commitments to "The Big Race"
See you all next race meet.

Have to agree with the above comments.
It was a great days racing, as always.
Thanks guys, for a great day!
The track seems to get better and better each time I race. Keep up the great work!
I'll have some more batteries soon, so I'll definately be in for the speed trial!
See you at the next meet!

I reckon I'll push on towards 100km/h.
I think there is some more speed in my TC4 yet. I went from 79 to 90 in five teeth of a pinion...
Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to announce that our Club Guardians have green lighted plans to upgrade out PA system.
This system will, all things going well, be up and running this weeknd at offroad.
It will be a greatly improved system using 4 x 30Wrms speakers and an industrial 3 channel PA amplifier all packaged neatly in road cases.
The plan is for this system to give greater sound coverage to the pit area and drivers stand during, and between races.
With the recent addition of upgraded hardware for timing and our new PA, I'm sure it makes us one of the more advanced clubs operating currently.
This is all achievable thanks to our loyal members who have contributed to the strong position the St Ives club is now in.
We look forward to implementing further exciting improvements in the future with some very exciting prospects being discussed.

You think that was fast,
The canon printer was going so fast, when the wind caught it and blew it off the table, that Steve could not even get a time on it.
The club now owns a new HP printer.
FOR SALE:
1 slightly damaged Canon printer, hardly raced. Reasonable offers considered.

So the printer is/was kaput... haha
Man that printer was quick too... I think the fact it was running 200 cells made the difference though....
Just too fast..... LMAO
I've been going through my stuff and I've got enough parts to build another car, so I'm thinking I might build a car for speed and drifting... heheh See how it goes.

It's the first Sunday of the month this long weekend, that means that off road is on again. So for those that aren't all raced out from last weekend, come on down for a relaxing day and some laps at the track.
See you there.
See you there.

I just want to let all the drivers know that, when you get to the Main gate of Showground, could you please tell the SES volunteers that you are racing with St Ives Car Club.
We are temporarily being given different access to our track area (by Council). You should be asked to drive staight ahead, as the road (heading towards public phone box) has been barricaded off. (This will only happen on the days that the Craft Fair is held.)
It should not be a problem if you follow the instructions of SES guys.
We are allowed to park on the grassed area for this day only, the other Sundays we are to park on the 'hard stand area.'
Any problems ring Marg on 0422983677.
Thank you and sorry if there is any inconvenience.
Tony.
