cut the factory wires about 1/4 inch above the board. and then use them as soldering posts..

You're not. Soldering on our controllers voids the warranty...always has, always will. We replace wires for $15, and that includes shipping back to you. The first batch of monsters have wires soldered on since our motors are not done yet. They'll be 10ga wire, and have 6.5mm gold connectors for the ESC and motor connections.

Castle have the 6.5mm bullet connectors listed on their web site for $6.99, so any hobby shop that sells the Castle gear should be able to get them.
http://www.castlecreations.com/products/ccbullet.html

Our lhs hides them behind the counter in the battery section.

Hi Guys,

Had a look through the thread to try to find a solution to my problem, but couldn't find what i was looking for so here goes:

I run a Mamba 25 in my xray M18t and works great on a fully charged battery, but at the end of a run as the battey drops of it seems to lock full forward, reverse, steering left or right (whatever the last input to the controller was) which can lead to some amazing and expensice crashes.

I'm using Futaba 2.4ghz radio gear (3tcs)

Is it a setting I have overlooked? or something wrong with the speedo?
Unfortunately I don't have the link cable so have to set it manually and not always sure I get it correct!

Thanks

Paul

set your failsafes. sounds like they are set to hold instead of set.
they hold the last known position. or it can go to a pre"set" value

my nomadio gives you the choice on each channel weather its hold or set im not sure if your futaba is the same and i dont think the mamba 25 has radio priority circuitry. that way instead of sending power to the motor it sends power to the reciver so you maintain control

streetracer...the Monster Max will come with the 6.5mm connectors you need for your motor. I believe we're even giving you 10ga wire until our motors come in. Once our motors come in they'll already have extra long wires, and 6.5mm connectors so you can just plug into the ESC.

Default Sidewinder Motor Limits

I have a question on motor limits for the Sidewinder running other than Castle brushless motors:

1) What is the motor limit for brushed mode when wired for foward/reverse operation?

2) What would be the motor limit for the Novak or other similar (LRP, etc) brushless motors (low end limit, like a 5.5 or a 4.5, etc)?

Default Novak?

Has anybody out there ran a 13.5 Novak on a Mamba Max controller, and if so what kind of results did you get? Thanks

19T limit in forward/reverse, no limit in forward only wiring.

Go by the kv of the motor. Whatever they sell that's closest to 5700kv and does 2s lipo, or 4600kv and does 3s lipo.

I seen one of the local hobbyshop owners run the Mamba with the Novak 13.5 and while it does work it hesitateson initial hit of the throttle. Once it gets moving it runs perfect. If you come to a stop and start again it will hesitate once again til it starts moving forward and then it is fine. Its not perfect.

The Novak seems to do just what my Orion 13.5 does and the Trinity Duo 13.5.

the orions shouldnt really be having trouble because they're designed for use with sensored OR sensorless ESC. it could also come down to the motor wiring setup you using, fiddle around with them & see if it fixes it. Im usin' an orion 7.5, mamba max, still on the oldskool firmware & she has never missed a beat!!
