Thanks BrainTeased,

All 3 cars have the 3 Racing aloy side braket. We thought it may have been an alighnment problem, but the one that breaks the 18T has not been in an accident. One of the other cars has hit a netball pole at full speed and it does not do it.

It is a bit strange, all 3 cars use the Kyosho 18T. All the same part number.

He seems to go through belts too, but i think it is due to the 18T coming apart.

This is a list of parts that 2 cars have above the standard kit.

3Racing (#020) Aluminum Pulley 32T For V One R Series
3Racing (#021) Aluminum Pulley 27T For V One R
3Racing (#027) Pulley Spacer For V One R
3Racing (#035) Alum. Diff. Pulley 48T For V One R Sereis
3Racing (#V1E-014) Alum Brake Stopper w/ Pulley For VOneRR Evo
3Racing (#VS003) Alum. Pulley 19T For 2 Speed
3Racing (#VS005) Aluminum Shield For V-One S & S II
Kyosho (#39308) Fuel Filter (M)
Kyosho (#VZW003) Rear Stabilizer Set For V One Series
Kyosho (#VZW004) Front Stabilizer Set For V One Series

One has the problem with the 18T and the other does not

The 3rd car has only got the alloy 18T and it is not got the problem

Interesting though... the one that has the problem is running the gold sway bars and the ther is running black. Not sure if that has anything to do with it though

ohh there is one more difference. The one with the problem is running 26 foams all the way round, and my car (no problem) has 26 front and 30 rear.

But I think that is all the differences are.

Post Pulley

This may sound stupid but are you sure that the pulleys are numbered correctly? ie 18t on inside and 2 19t on the main shaft? Have you tried reinstalling the original plastic pulley? Mine keep popping the front belt off until I realised that the belt and pulley were knackered.

Post End c-clip

I have a problem as well. I keep losing the little spacer and c clip that goes onto the left side of the main shaft near the engine. It has happened 3 times now and I am sick of buying the complete pulley set to get one little spacer that I need. Should I space it out correctly with washers and loctite the c clip onto the bastard or should I buy another pulley set and loctite the clip on? Sugestions please

Dazza this is the answer you may have been looking for!! as sway bars or foam tyres can not make a pulley pop out.

We have tried replacing both the belt and the pulley at the same time, and after about 20min running it will pop the side off the 18T. the belt does not come off just the side of the pulley comes off. We can even continue driving and even after another 20 mins the belt is still on. just the side of the pulley is missing.

im lost as you mentioned all 3 cars have that side bracket on the g/box so how does the plastic retainer fall off with the bracket still mounted on the g/box.

Sorry,
The pulley we are having troubles with is the one that drives the front diff. It is the one in the middle of the car on the inside of the centre bulk. I will try and find a pic.

Ok Here is a pic, i just lifted from 3racing website.

The yellow arrow is the pulley we are having problems with

The red circle was already on the pic.. not the trouble spot.

That could work... now I wonder where that tinny piece has gone this time.

Still a bit strange how 1 out of 3 cars does it.

Thanks Hank. I will get a new one break it then glue it and see how long that lasts.
