Yes, good point EAMotorsports.
I think though that these are just the "enduro" (30+ runs) version of the brushes instead of the "sprint" version as it is a bit more durable in high temperature. They were running hot modified motors with high capacity, high voltage GP4300 cells and the temperature was at about 36+ degrees.
That's just a guess thought. I do not have any info on this..

The copper wire you see is just stripped motor wire wound through the battery bars and zip tied to the motor wire. This also helps keep them in place.
Motor wires unsoldering from V2's is a common problem for the really fast drivers if its hot outside. This only happens to guys that really put the power down and drive hard....I have never had this problem with my V2's
The black shrink wrapped bundle behind Surikarns's motor is a bundle of schottys and caps. This is supposed to keep the motors cooler.
It must have been really hot at the Thai race.
