Xray T1FK05
#2971
The front shocks will be 68mm long so they will fit to xray (rears are 73mm).
Anyway you missed my point (it is my fault for sure):
the question is: the fact that serpent updated their shock design will result that xray will update their shocks to serpent type?
This two company shared the shock design in the past. The new design looks impressive (no diaphragm, selfbleeding, could be open only on the bottom end) maybe Xray will decide to use it.
To the xray shocks:
I don't care what people try to tell me about the xray shocks I don't like them - this is my problem and it makes no sense to discuss this with anybody or try to convince me that I'm wrong - some people likes pancakes some doesn't.

I think the performance of the Xray shocks is good, but I hate building them, there such a pain to get right and they need rebuilding every other week to keep them in good condition and I think that’s the reason why everyone hates them.
Xray don't want to change them cos there team drivers say they are fine, but then again team drivers (and pit men) have more time to build them and get them right than the average guy.
Xray make quality products and rarely get many complaints about there products but almost everyone has a moan about shock maintenance so only time will tell if they listen and re-design them.

I would agree, I am not happy with the shocks at all. I was going to see if some Tamiya 415 shocks would work.

I just put tamiya shocks on my fk05. it was really easy to mount them... Just use tc3 shock ends and use the stock xray pivot ball instead of the AE metric bushing things that snaps into the eyelet. And then on the top just use a tamiya ballstud to snap onto the shock, the spacing and length is fine (i had around 2 threads showing on the shock shaft to get the legth correct).

shocks (bodies)
thx to the previous poster for the horsham link, they have some of the items i was not able to order through my local shop.
speaking of my local shop (i always go there first), i had tried ordering the aluminum shock bodies from them. apparently they called someone (i am assuming xray/rc america) and were told that the current aluminum bodies have been discontinued, but that there will be a replacement in the future. they did not elaborate on what changes were going to be made, or the availability.

shocks..i'm quite in doubt abt. the opinions here...
i also agree that it isn't a easy task to build it up..
but once it had been built up...i don't need rebuild them often...
as i play once to twice a wk....and every wk i check the shocks..
they give me the same rebounce and not much oil leakage problem...
