Not looking to start any argument or anything, but in what touring car does the layshaft spin? I've had a few, and looked a lot of manuals for others, and can't think of a single one where the layshaft spins. They all have the spur gear screwed together with the pulleys, which ride on bearings on a stationary layshaft. But I've only been paying attention for the past few years. Maybe things used to be different?
EDIT: I just realized I'm full of crap, because my xray t4's pulleys are pinned to the layshaft and the while thing rides on bearings.

It's the case on quite a few cars, Schumacher have used it, think my old TRF had a setup like that too.

Anyone using these up front? Are they similar to the v2 swing axles?

I've read a lot of discussions about the play in the center shaft... But guys remember play is totally mechanical. You can have about a millimeter of play there, it won't be a problem as the rotative part will be centered by the belts...

With the stock spur on the s1 running 17.5 blinky on a small- medium carpet track. Straight is about 85ft. What's a good starting point as far as pinion size?
Thanks
Thanks

Can anyone recommend a servo saver in place of the "stock" servo arm in the S1? Using a Futaba S9650. Stock arm is fine for out playin' in the parking lot. Went to race VTA Saturday, and the first hit the car took exploded the gears in my servo.

Link is incomplete and doesn't work. Try this: http://jfgifygufh.blogspot.com/

I've searched and searched....but I can't find any gearing help for a 21.5 VTA setup for the R1.
Recommended FDR for a 21.5? Pinion/spur counts?
This is for an asphalt setup.

I settled on a 96 64p spur and I have pinions from 39 to 57 that will fit. That covers me from 4.68 to 3.20 FDR.
