Aaron, what setup changes should I make to my 8th scale buggy to get more off power steering if the car is perfect everywhere else????

It's a 777, by the way.

I swear one of these days I'll get better about answering stuff again on RCTech...I promise! haha

impactplayr - I'd probably go with the Novarossi engine...I ran a Novarossi carburetor on most of my Sirio engines to get tuning reliability (not necessarily a change in power).

BTW, Trinity no longer imports Sirio engines, so I won't be running them anymore.

savagesynth - What are you currently running for diff oil? I think the most common 777 diff setup that I've seen (especially the SP2) is 4-6-2. If you're running too-thick oil in the front diff, that will take away off-power steering.

It could be something simple as brake...are you running any drag brake? It seems that the preferred setting for drag brake in buggy is literally none..and many top-level racers don't run any front brake as well, especially on tight tracks. Front brake will kill steering, both high speed and low-speed.

Another change you can make that shouldn't change your car TOO much everywhere else on the track would be to run a thinner swaybar, or simply reduce the preload on the swaybar (the leverage the swaybar has on the arm..move the mounts out further on the swaybar so that it twists more instead of making the arms move).

Aaron, I'll try that diff setup this weekend. I don't run any drag brake or front brake. I switched to the #2.5 Toe block in the rear and removed the front sway bar and it was a lot better.

Thanks!

Hey aaron,

Will all the losi guys that are currently running a different buggy (ie. Drake) run the losi car once it is released? This is one thing Ive been thinking a lot about lately. Thanks!

Drake works for Losi. So I will bet he will be running a new buggy soon.

runnin rc10 - That's something I'm not sure I can talk about yet...all of the drivers who race for other teams (myself included) are currently still under contract with other people and I don't think that's something I'm allowed to speak out with yet.

Let's expand upon this. Someone has to know something. So is the rumor that Losi has a new buggy? Is it 2wd or 4wd, and I hope it's not a variation of the recent 2x4 with wheels on it we saw at the worlds

I think Losi has put the rumor to rest!

knucklebusta - The new 1/8th scale buggy will be 4wd, and a direct competitior in the thriving realm of 1/8th scale off-road buggy racing that has taken off in the last couple of years.

D Mac - The Axe Motor Rossi X3 is the same engine, with a different head. Trinity no longer imports the Rossi engines, so I won't be running the Pixy/X3 anymore.

And also..this information was OK'd to be made public today.

Upon release of the Losi 1/8th scale buggy, Losi's drivers will be racing it instead of their current rides.

Default CVD vs dogbones part numbers

Aaron,

I just picked up a pristine MF1, and am starting to race stock/mod. It has the CVDs, and from what i read they can effect side bite. True?

Are these the part numbers to convert? 3090, 3014, 3015? Anything else?

Thanks,
JC
