check for moisture in your esc. also, check the wire insulation to make sure they aren't shorting.

Get a good ESC and then you'll never have to worry about a 15t motor.

The reason I was shocked was because the only thing I changed was the motor, everything else came stock with the RTR Losi. The ESC is GM Racings' V3R (supposedly able to handle no less than a 15t motor). The leads did melt themselves together though. And the ESC was EXTREMELY HOT!! So I came to the conclusion that the esc was not able to handle the 15TDouble Mod motor.

my guess is that your gear mesh was to tight. A peice of paper should go between the spur and pinion with out ripping.

Now that I see it was a 15 turn double, I have to think that a double pulls more power than a 15 turn single.

XXX-S Bill--
That's is my conclusion too, so I'm getting GMs' V6R.
That should do the trick. This also gives me a chance to concentrate on the Yoke SD that I just built.

Thanks guys

Default First Race

Yesterday was my first race with my Losi...

Didn't do too bad, 4th in the B. One thing I noticed about this car was the ability to get off the line FAST! I would hole shot everytime just to get punted in the first turn..

Oh well... ver smooth car.. I have a black belt kit on the way so we will see how that changes things. At my track 99% run XRays and there are only 4 Losi's (me included) and they are a little quicker...

I'll probably check with my local shop today and see if they have any new belt kits in stock. Got to check on the one way and some other stuff too. I found out my car should be here on Thursday. Just in time for me to go back to work. I'll cross my fingers and hope it's Wednesday.

i found the same thing. racing vers a few tamiyas and a TC3 in my first race, in a B main as well. I would out punch them easily, even with my no name 1800s.

I just put a black belt system in mine, havent raced it yet tho

i'm almost sure the v3r has an 18t limit.

Default New Belt Kits

How much of a difference is there between a cut yellow belt and the new black belt?

thanks for your input!

I dont know by first hand knowledge but I have been told the car is alot more free and adds run time with alittle more rip. the pully system is larger allowing a larger belt and a less binding drive train
