Default TC6 spurs?

Looking to get a 3.6 FDR and need an aftermarket spur/pinion combo. What are people recommending?

I'm looking at the spurs offered on Speedtech R/C. Kimbrough, RW Racing, Speedtech, and Xenon spurs are the ones I'm interested in. Number of teeth on the spur and pinion would be helpful.

Thanks!

If you can find a 49 tooth pinion, a Kimbrough 88 will get you a 3.59. For a 3.6 to fit the motor mount, I think you will need a spur in the 88-92 range.

Yep, 90/50 is the closest setup I could find to fit with the adjustment available on the motor mount. It's exactly 3.60 fdr. Tried 85/47 for 3.62 and it didnt fit.

Or you could use an Associated 69T spur and a 38/39 pinion if you want to stick to 48 pitch. HKSRC carries the 3racing pinions which go up above 40 in 48 pitch. I'm running the 69/38 on my TC6

Trying to visualize why 85/47 wouldn't work.. what's happening on the motor mount that does not allow for this?

Because they will not mesh?

No space for them, you can't move motor for this dimensions.

Check my gear chart!

Is that you I see on the TC6 Thread Joe? I see Mike G and Matt hanging out in here... Another convert perhaps?

On another note, we have been able to fit all the way up to a 39-40 tooth pinion with a 78 tooth, 48P spur. I have found this to be the most versatile size if running boosted and non boosted 17.5. You can get the ratios on both ends without changing a spur. I guess the equivalent in 64P would probably work well too.

Rick H. I stand corrected, looking at the pictures well, I now see the difference.
