If you are going to be racing on a track with hard track boards I would suggest you get one of these. Its saved me lots of money on broken parts.

whats the quality like on the spec r double jointed shafts? the price is right for sure. curious if they make one that will fit a serpent too as $80 for those ones is a little rediculous. might sell that serpent and just get two prospecs though i guess its always cheaper to just run what you have.....

I remember reading a few pages back (or maybe more) that there was a company doing cheaper bodies. Anyone know which one it is? I think they were retailing for around $7.
Also I would be interested in finding out what TX/RX combo everyone is using. I will go first, just upgraded to a FS GT3-C. Haven't tested it yet but looks good so far.

The FlySky should be an upgrade from the standard TX/RX that I was using from the HPI Sprint Flux 2 RTR though. I have only been racing for a few months so I doubt that I will notice the latency for a while yet. But thanks for the advice

Is anyone using the xray chubs on their Spec R ? I was wondering if these Xray composite medium chubs would fit...

Had my first night on the track Friday. Aside from a few teething problems, a few loose screws and popped the steering turnbuckle off then stripped it and I also stripped the top ball stud from the right hand c-hub causing some weird handling issues). The car ran really well. Ran in the local SSF (10.5T geared 32,75 48p). It was fast but was washing off too much speed in the turns. I think I need to replace the spool front with a geared diff to fix this. The car is at least a full second quicker than my old Sprint 2 after limited track time and I can see this one being alot faster.
On a side note has anyone else noticed that the price of the S-1 has dropped on RC Mart? It is down to $85

R1 vs R1 Pro
Mornin Guys...
I purchased R1 about a year ago.. i think it was the second batch... and i have been using it for TITC as well as for my local race with 13,5 motor...
To be honest I was very happy with their design, etc...but the quality of the part is poor...
my question is....with the new R1 Pro Spec....is the quality of the part much more better or still the same as the R1?
Appreciate all the comment on my question...
Cheers
